Bey only made more than Drake because of touring, but he made far more money from his music (sales + streaming + publishing) than Bey made from her music.

Bey (sales + streaming + publishing): $7.5 million

Drake (sales + streaming + publishing): $23.7 million

Drake making 3x more money from his music in 2016 than Bey did (they both had new albums out in 2016) only proves that Bey continues to lose out money from her botched handling of her music where she could be making wayyy more + still making all she does by touring.

Well there you have it.

I think the same could be said about Best Thing I Never Had and End Of Time. EOT was released as one of the final single despite leaked the earliest.

:rip: at him making 10x her with streaming and the fact that she actually owns her publishing that number would've increased as well.

Drake makes more $$$ in streaming and sales vs Bey. I mean thats just facts ijbol.

She's all about the dollar, imagine how much more money she could have if she actually played her cards right.

Lemonade being exclusive was great in the short-term. She crossed 2 million pure sales in the US and 3 million WW in 2016 which was pretty amazing however, the wait lasted way longer than it should have. Ideally, she should've released it on the streaming services after the 2017 Grammy's. The album had peaked with sales but was still relatively new. She also received a lot of coverage from the Grammy's that year which would have been a great introduction to Spotify. I don't think it would've taken 3 years to cross a billion streams if she released during that window.

Good point however I still think it was short sighted and stubborn on their part. They were trying to make some type of artistic stand and it didn't work.

I think G'Day's graph paints the bigger picture on why it hurt lemonade.

I literally get second hand embarrassment every time Tidal is brought up. They saw The Avengers, grabbed a bunch of egoless millionaires at a table and said this is our strategy: the main selling point is that we make more profit off of music compared to Spotify. :deadbanana:It was really bad for them..

I'm hoping those vinyls help push to platinum, because at this rate, it'll be next year before she hits lol

So does Rihanna and Taylor lol. All because they didn't hide their albums for Tidal.

The point is that during that crucial time period of 2016/2017 where the industry was fully transitioning into streaming those artists that put their albums on Spotify benefited greatly. Imagine if Lemonade had been one of those albums.

Yeah after I saw that, it changed my perspective.

In the end it all boils back to timing, availability and exposure. Releasing music at the right time (which she did with Formation), allowing the music to be available to the consumers (which she didn't) and sending it to radio (no) and performing it (she did in front of the largest available audience). It's crazy because radio wanted the song so bad they were ripping the audio from the video that she hid :skull: . There's no reason why it shouldn't have been streamed over a billion times at this point. Drake does all 3 which is why he has a **** ton of pure sales and streams. There's no reason why the Beyoncé can't do the same.

it was the fact that they got all the rich celebs at that meeting that killed me :rip: like I really don’t care how much Madonna or Nicki are making off their music, somehow I get the feeling they can pay the bills. If they had spotlighted some young struggling artists it may have worked but they went with the richest most recognizes celebs :deadbanana:

Then you had some of the Hive members defending it and acting like you were a bad person if you criticized Tidal or didn’t support it. It really separated the stans from the cult members and people showed themselves.

Spoiler

Yes I did make two free trials for Lemonade and Anti, what about it?

Lemonade lowkey could’ve been a streaming monster album. Sonically its not like her other projects but the impact would have drew a lot of people to stream it.

It may sound corny but I was happy asf she made Renaissance available on every platform.

I don't speak bad of Tidal because I've been a member the past 7 years :lmao: I'm mad that the only real exclusive we got from her was Die With You and Happy Birthday Stevie.

And they are still here dying on a hill defending his dumb ventures while he stays on that stupid **** with Ponzi scheme crypto classes and comparing capitalism to racism. :rip: Lord anyway, I'm glad I don't have a parasocial relationship with billionaires and here for funsies. :giraffe:

Praying for an announcement of "something" ASAP because (with the CG news)...the daily moaners have been incentivised to go overboard and being more dramatic than ever. While some of the defenders are admittedly giving Bey too much of a pass.

The only thing that seems to unite us is some kind of source material. Announcement, teasers...something...anything.

I'd like to think the following offer some glimmers of hope:

* Grammy deadline (next week)

* Vinyls coming (some already being delivered this week / mass drop early Oct)

*  Tiffanys. I stick to my stance that it will not drop before the main visuals (as there is no logical nor creative justification for that)

For what it's worth, I think Bey did the right thing, it was right to support her man, it was to stand by such an application with the benefits it had both for artists and customers. An exclusive for the first months made sense.

Y’all are being too PC for me. Bottom line is Beyoncé wouldn’t have to play catch up on streaming and playing these silly “ will they won’t they” radio games if her team was smarter and knew how to actually capitalize on an era. Beyoncé is surrounded by yes men and I don’t like it. Her team is even acting like her, all secretive and mysterious on social media. Bye

3 years though? An exclusive for a few days or a week. That’s it. She has made terrible decisions.

But her man didn't even stand by himself. He was quick with the spotify drop.

There was no excuse Beyonce did that for 3 years.

Naughty Girl came on in the Formation World Tour (Fanmade 1080p Youtube Edition), I was instantly reminded of Summer Renaissance. I realized how rare it is for her sing with her head voice. People pay this song DUST and it's darksided. :biblionny:

Yes, that's why I said the first months lile 2 or 3. Lol.

Anyway let's rank songs ! :celestial:

For albums, Lemonade remains my #1 so far.

SR suffers from the same thing as Move. They follow songs that are so good and the fact that they have to come to an end annoys me.
