They got LUCKY with the 2 weeks #1 for BMS, but we are exactly back to where we were 6 weeks ago now... actually worse because BMS is about to start freefalling it with it peaking on radio and being dropped (FYI songs being "pulled" from radio isn't a thing. It's just a stan euphemism for when radio drops a song due to bad callouts/label cheques ending/whatever).

This categorically not true. :skull: Callouts are no longer released publicly, but those with insight to radio have confirmed that BMS got good callouts. Songs do get pulled from radio, specifically so the next single can receive the full focus. It's not "stan euphemism" at all. :toofunny3:

Oh and...

@*-ChriZ-* you need some fresh air and a better grip on reality. log out for a few weeks you’ll hear renaissance playing outside maybe meet some irl bey fans/stans :swing:

Sit up interviews and foolish tik toks are NOT it. It would cheapen her brand and image at this point.

She should strike for her album to reach a wider audience, but can do so without catering to gen Z.

She really doesn't need to go on the promo circuit and is indeed at a level where she can comfortably let others do the promo for her, but for that you need CONTENT. Content pushed at the right time and in the right way.

Do album commentary on your own terms, no need to do interviews for that, do bts footage, send a second single to the radio after the album is out, perform your ****, don't wanna attend award shows? Fine pre-record your stuff like many have done in the pandemic, release the visuals if you have them and do so wile the iron is hot, not after attention has drifted away.

You can be elusive but still make word of your project at the same time. And ST was the perfect example of that.

It really is so mind boggling to me that she can have the passion and drive to create such a spectacular record but when it comes to making sure people actually check it out she's like 'yea whatever, whoever wants to listen will listen, that's it' :deadbanana:

Do you guys think she'll announce the next drop again? Or will it be a surprise drop? Some fans were thinking that in order to avoid leaks, it might be a digital surprise drop again with the physical cds to be released shortly after - just how she did with ST.

Well the problem is she doesn't want to do anything :lmao:I understand the frustration. She's a singer first and foremost, it's her job to promote her album. If she really wants to focus on her family, she should announce a retirement. Hives will move on with their lives and she gets to spend time with her beloved husband too instead of leaves us hanging and baffled with her every moves.

But this is what I'm not getting about the meltdowns. This is easily the most commercial success she's had since I Am... I'm in the UK and clubs are playing 3 album tracks in one night. People are going off and clearly the music is having wide reach. This is why I wasn't joking when I said go outside and touch grass, you may actually hear the album in the wild lol.

Given this great start, having meltdowns over a lack of second single this very second when we know full well the era isn't over seems redundant. Who cares if single 2 is a few weeks late? Its either going to be a hit or not. The bigger concern would be having the wrong single. But alien superstar has actually Playlisting which had obviously come from the label... so its all coming. Yall just gotta accept that the timing will be slightly off from you expect. Only 2 weeks ago she had a no.1 but everything is a mess?

Only on this base.

There are songs like Pink + White  with 500m streams on Spotify despite not having any meaningful single treatment and not peaking as high as other "hits" of the same year. If you're still obsessing over charting in the streaming era, you're missing the point.

The second single being pushed will only be "too late" if it doesn't happen within the next month or so. Label cheques is 70% of the effort needed. All promo you speak of far less important. Woman by Doja didn't smash because of some televised performance or interview.

I'll stand by the notion  that if Alien is going to be a hit. It'll be one whether its released today or in 3 weeks time with visuals. Its not all or nothing.

All of this! Great to see some actual logic peppered into such grating debates. It's REALLY clear that some people operate on logic, data, and objective fact and others operate on emotion and personal feeling.

What I think is lost on the constant moaners is that it's all at once possible to have wanted the visuals on (or before) July 29th, kinda be side-eyeing Bey for this timing, and still align with the optimistic take above. I know because that's exactly where I am now.

The amount of pointless, conjecture and "I'm mad about xyz, so the era is a flop" misinformation from some members is astounding.

We even got pretty intriguing tea about the original plan for the era, how it evolved into this multi-project thing, info on the doc, and insights about how she shot the videos (simultaneously on 7 sound stages) only for the moaners to literally scroll past it to...moan.

Context is crucial people. We have a multi-week #1 single (that's still in the top 5), a #1 album with great first week numbers, consistent sales (it hasn't dipped past #3 in a month), a trailer that confirms activity incoming. Sure there are question marks hovering, but I really question the deductive reasoning of anyone wilfully bypassing all of that to moan.

The way I would have thought this brief window of inactivity would make for more convo about what we want or speculate is coming. Instead, it's meltdowns on meltdowns for meltdowns sake. It almost seems like trolling at this point.

As a fan I struggle with lack of discernable strategy and lack of promo too. Plus its fun to vent on bey when there isn't much else to do.

But underneath all that is always trust. It's been 25 years and she's never let me down. At the end of the day she could do the best and biggest promo and the material could be subpar. But it's the opposite and I'll take that anyday. Let's not forget that since ST she has re prioritized her personal life. She has a family and she wants to enjoy life too - still this workaholic gives her art her everything and more (lmaooo three albums). I won't complain too much that she isn't promoting like in the 00s.

Finally, let's count our blessings. They DID have a strategy this era. We got a #1, 9 weeks top 10, and a proper release. For gods sake have y'all forgotten unlisted videos, tidal exclusives and just ignoring songs altogether.

Now to the visuals and performances. It's in bey's blood and we know the visuals are coming.

It's frustrating trying to make sense of it all (and I'll enjoy venting) but goddammit am i secretly so excited. All we've got is act i music and its SO good. We have seen but a GLIMPSE of what her full vision is with this era - three entire acts. Why and how and the concept (you know she loves a good concept project) is still to come. This ***** knows how to keep us on edge lol

All i want to say is. Vent if needed but please do it playfully and enjoy tugging at bey's wig. Don't let the frustration take over so that you sour the experience itself. Tap into the joy bey put into Renaissance- that's it purpose. Bey could've retired at ST or Lemonade and been the greatest of her generation. This is all bonus cuz she loves being an artist.

In the meantime - Thique is her most elite song. I can't explain it

“MJ hasn’t done a sit down interview in 14 years, Bey doesn’t need to”. MJ avoided interviews because of child molestation accusations and did not want to explain his very bizarre lifestyle. :rip: Not saying Bey should do a sit down interview because I do think she’s far past doing things like that. It’s the weird excuses how she doesn’t need to do certain things because of how legends operated 3 decades ago in a very different climate.

THIS! OMG! You basically summed up my current take it on it. This, this and this!

It's very possible to vent and critique, while maintaining an objectivity about the good of the situation at hand.

Some are going above and beyond to sour the experience with irrationality and it's bizaare.

Its not irrational, im from germany and Bey is pretty much a nonfactor here. She doesnt hold any power here anymore despite being an absolute hitmaker during IASF. Its sad and irritating to say the least how she lost such an important market like that (or any non-english speaking country at that). She peaks nicely first week, and then nada.

Might be a whole different experience and perception in the US or UK, but here in Germany it looks bad (especially single wise)

I’m so thirsty for the visuals omg :WAP: I Can’t even imagine what she came up with this era omfg :WAP:

Saying remember unlisted videos and tidal exclusives as if the same people didn’t also say during that time to calm down and trust the process during that era. :deadbanana: The problem is parkwood has been a mess for 10 years now when it comes to marketing.

See, now I get your context a bit more. She's on the precipice of rebound success in your region. Cool.

But it's still important to reconcile the fact that she's killing it in her core markets, is doing better than she has in a long time worldwide, and there is more stuff on the way.

Projecting doom and gloom about a project's performance or public sentiment because it's not doing as well as it could in a market that has long since not been a focus (from her and them) is where and why I'm still confused.

This. I have no issue with what she's done so far because it doesn't affect me or how I view the music. I'm mostly interested in understanding her strategy and the big picture behind everything.

I completely understand your rational. People seem to overlook that it could be an issue for her legacy in the long run. Her peak being only IASF in those regions.

Beyonce does not do too well in interviews...lets be honest...that could backfire just as easily. From people mocking her accent, vocabulary, speech pattern, and evasive answers...it's a waste of time & ineffective. she's not an open book...there's only so much she's going to answer about her life. and Breakfast Club?? lol. why would Beyonce go on a low brow platform like that where they don't respect boundaries & thrive off going viral and are likely to ask her about the elevator & Becky stuff. topics that no one has asked her in magazine publications that she's done for a reason.

Outside of the music...Beyonce's bread & butter is PERFORMING. She needs more performances than anything.

This is about the only thing I agree with you on.

One performance and she's viral for ages.  No one performs like her

Beyonce doesn't do well in interviews because she's in her head to much. She tries to be in control of everything she says. If she just relaxed a bit, things would go smoother.

I think a more casual setting like hot ones would be fun.  The reason why a video like 7/11 worked so well is because people got a glimpse into her silly personality. If she posted just a little bit of that on tiktok or even instagram, that would do wonders.

Like has she ever performed at Eurovision? Or maybe she can do a festival next year before tour.

Honestly, I'm picking up on vibes that Beyonce may be done with performing as well. I don't really see her performing anywhere except, MAYBE, the grammys. I have a feeling the tour won't be a massive one either. She may do North America and a couple of Europe dates.
