I think she’s purposefully holding off on dropping the visuals until BMS and the album have slowed down to a certain point cause the visuals will likely mark the end of ACT 1. The question is when are they gonna decide to drop the visuals cause they already have teased it. I’m thinking it’s coming at the end of summer (so any day now) 

 

Especially since tour dates are apparently dropping in Fall and I see her using all of Fall to rollout ACT 2 like she did this summer with Renaissance 

 

So we are definitely near the end of Renaissance and there won’t be an official 2nd single

 

The leads of these three acts will be the only singles

i also think its time to stop monitoring & objectifying her body for "clues" as well...yall were using this same rhetoric in those paparazzi pics that came out in June. only for Vogue & BMS to come out a week later. this is another topic that she's talked about too in her recent interviews...Beyonce is not giving into the pressure of being a certain size anymore. if she didn't care enough to make sure certain things were seen as "right" in the eyes of the judgmental public before the launch of this era then it makes no sense to keep weight watching for more clues.

Why do y'all keep comparing these two? Beyoncé and Taylor have never been in the same league commercially (maybe in Europe Beyoncé has the upper hand but even that's debatable now)

We live in a time now where they have to be, those lines are not so bold now, Bey is just not doing it the same and people are less AWARE of her music.

Beyoncé and her team will do what they want to do. She just had her first legitimate solo hit in YEARS. I have a hard time believing they aren't going to capitalize on that.

 

If Beyoncé wants to run her career like a recluse and ends up with recurrent stats like Prince or Janet Jackson then that will he her bad but as it stands right now she's more streamed and has better recurrent stats than literally any of her peers minus Eminem, Kanye and Shakira.

No. Let's not even do this. 

We should not be measuring artists with different flavors of appeal in the same way. 

 

Taylor can galvanise a broader audience for reasons obvious. 

 

Bey literally cannot be rivalled when it comes to her cultural impact (which I don't think she gets enough credit for). Not a single one of her peers in todays climate can compete when it comes to the "stop, look, and listen" effect Bey brings. Nor the diversity of her audience. I'd bet your average Taylor Swift / Pop fan in general perked up at the news of Renaissance. Whereas I can tell you right now that it no way works the other way around. No one vested in the Urban space will even know what a  Midnights is even though it'll undoubtedly sell more. 

 

What's more, Bey is essentially an adjective at this point. To be the "Beyonce' of something is universally understood to mean "the best". Again, a status her peers can't garner with sales or claim is theirs because of "likes". 

 

Also, 500k is epic for ANYONE on socials and defines viral. Presenting it some kind of indication of minimized interest (presumably because of current frustrations with the silence) is not it.

When I scrolled through Tik Tok her fans are mainly teenagers to young adult (that is experiencing breakups) and is willing to spend money on buying and collecting albums.

 

Beyoncé make mainly R&B/Urban music. Her image is sexy and don't forget she pissed off the politicians and the racist America back in 2016. Also, B always sings about female empowerment and being strong independent woman. Truthfully, girls (or guys) could relate to breakup songs for some reason couldn't relate to empowerment songs. Just look at Olivia and Billie smashing. People loves emo/breakup music. Beyoncé had this Goddess/Queen image that make people go crazy but "can't relate". 

 

Why is Taylor releasing makes the Hives shaking? They made completely different music and don't forget that B released IASF when Swift was smashing with Fearless and ultimatel lost her album of the year. They will be doing just fine. Taylor will be #1 and B will be #2. We should celebrate her album tracks serving longevity.

i'm confused why people keep aligning Taylor and Beyonce together...2 different generations, 2 different types of music, 2 different appeals, 2 different career phases. 

 

Please stop pretending like Beyonce ever stood a chance to make the music she wants to make and be doing what Taylor (or Adele) is doing. not at 25 years, not with urban music, and not when the first thing you hear on a Beyonce album is Princess Loko repeating "please motherfuckers ain't stopping me". 

Ok some of yall need to turn in a Swifitie application if yall feel like Bey isn't giving. I personally don't care how much Taylor streams or sales, her music is not for me and I'll choose Bey any day. 

 

This is when you have to make a choice. Do we stan for numbers or the actual  music and what the artist brings? Bey will be fine. She got outsold by alot when Adele was smashing with 21 and 25 and is still one of the best selling and charting. All we can do is wait until she makes a move.

Beyonce lost a lot of collateral since lemonade. She hurt her streaming, radio, and potential sales. Most people don't even know her best discography, she didn't expand her base at all in the last few years. At first fans used to say you can't put her in a box, now everyone delegates her to simply an rnb/urban artist. WHAT! She's so much more than that. 

I'm legit convinced that those who make those kinds of comparisons either a) aren't POCs (as I legit believe the notion of having to work "twice as hard to get half as far" is drilled into us early and shapes the way we assess everything - including odd comparisons like this) or b) they believe in a false narrative where all artists are equal if they work hard....or in this instance promote. 

 

Make no mistake, if Bey and Taylor Swift started their careers at the same time, there is an automatic, BUILT-IN advantage that Miss Swift has from the get go. Take from that what you will. But please always remember that: Context is key. Always.

Beyonce is only 7 years older than Taylor and their solo careers began two years apart. Taylor already has two AOTY wins. 

 

Even Rihanna has an upper hand now, hits wise and the streaming numbers show that.

Taylor is a single white woman who makes folk and pop/rock music; a genre her (mostly white) fans love of all ages. Her above average songwriting skills and chart obsessed behavior results in why she’s huge and acclaimed.
