This could be said of like 95% of all albums that hit number one on the billboard 200. Doesn’t change that they are good numbers.

Great numbers She better do bundles next time though. I refuse to follow a music industry with a climate in which Taylor Swift doesn’t debut above 1 million. It was like the sun rising... you could always count on it.

Maybe it will. Periodically, slow ballads are big hits. I feel like it has been a long time since a slow love ballad was a big hit unless you count Shallow. It feels overdue and the GP might choose Lover to fill the void.

You can’t really blame them tbh. Some of them haven’t been stanning since before 2010 and thus don’t even know a world in which Taylor Swift doesn’t debut with over a million in sales. They’ll eventually come to terms and realize that this is a different music industry than it was and that these numbers are fantastic.

It’s time to let go of pure sales sis... if she were to do 1 million SPS or near that in 2019 it would be just as impressive (if not more impressive) as 1 million pure 5-10 years ago and just as valid.

MTE. I figured 450k pure first day would mean that 1 million SPS is in the bag but by their reactions apparently not. Apparently it means the opposite.
