I expect it to be a return to form (OOTB) for her but not a massive smash

Only 2 of the options in the poll are realistic and unfortunately it's the ones on the bottom.

A lot of 143 sounds like an artist who might still possess some lyrical and melodic skill but is making really horrible choices, this just sounds like the last wheeze of someone running on empty and trapped in 2010 in their head, what a same.

Its much better than majority of 143 based on the snippet so that is already a huge plus

The song sounds completely harmless and she's probably smart enough to not stand next to a rapist this time around... so at the very least there won't be any backlash.

The latest excuse that's been going around right now is that the bandwagon of hate towards is already putting the song's chart performance at a disadvantage when it releases

Real opinion as a KC with no stan goggles: the fourth scenario. Best case it does for Katy what "The Cure" did for Gaga where while it isn't a big hit, shows that she can still make radio/streaming cute hits if she wants to, and hopefully it'll set up the next single/era nicely to be even bigger

The snippet sounds good, I think the song will be a major bop, but I don't think it'll do anything commercially because the GP is just not here anymore for Katy's (new) music. She's also not a critics darling so even if she released something high quality, it would probably go unnoticed. But that doesn't mean she should give up and stop making music (unless she only cares about success, like Cheryl for example).

So this is where the obsessed haters are congregated as the losers they are lol

OT: it's a great step in the right direction, it's a pop-rock sound from ootb that she does best, but still with the contemporary pop elements. So getting that along with bandaids alone is a win for her after the 143 era disaster. So it might not do much commercially because, again as the OKHs so generously mentioned here for us, it won't have enough autoplay/playlisting as we already know. But it will be another positive moment after bandaids and something genuinely enjoyable.
