Pop producers we don't talk about enough

Featured Replies

Not everything needs to be about max martin and jack antonoff. For example, Narada Michael Walden has some of the best '80s hits ever, like "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" and "I'm Every Woman", but most people don't even know who he is.

We don't talk about Stargate NEARLY as much as we should. Fernando Garibay too, honestly.

Hard to believe the same person who produced Toxic, Piece of Me and early 2000s bubblegum pop music for Samantha Mumba, Christina MIlian, Ms. Dynamite, etc. also produced this EDM staple that's now played at nearly every EDM festival.jonny2

I'd say Rodney is pretty well-known amongst the casual pop listener but when you compare him to The Neptunes or Timbaland, I guess you can say he's less known.

Rick Chertoff who produced Cyndi Lauper's debut album(which is now archived in the US National Archives), honestly wished they would have continued because her music without him became stale while he continued to have hits with Joan Osborne...

RedOne, I really like his music that wasn't straight up EDM... so like Kat De Luna, Lady Gaga. I don't think he works with western artists anymore, he focuses more on Latin,Middle East, and Southern Europe music market now...

Nellee Hooper's work with Bjork is so good.

We don't mention Dr. Luke very often /s....

Its interesting that producers can have a flop era or can lose their streak like popstars

John Shanks.

He's co-written and produced some great songs for artists like Hilary Duff, Ashlee Simpson, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Alanis Morissette and Natasha Bedingfield.

Some of their career highlights are his work and he won the Grammy Award for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical in 2005. clap3
