The album is not that bad

Eh I think her debut was way better. There's no standouts with this one (which is why it's doing so terribly) and there's about only two songs that are worth listening to more than once.

I've had the album on repeat! The tour will do wonders for the era! Let's not write this era off just yet or her for that matter!

Stay strong, Tygers. The album is great regardless of its commercial performance and Tyla will make a huge comeback with her next one.

This is what happens when you dont perform and push your album after the first week

Yall cant keep using this excuse for tyla.

The album really isn't great saur..

I hear Ayra's album is going to be full of bops though according to my friends who went to the listening party

It will probably be a fun listen but in the end it will perform similarly to Tyla's. And that if she's lucky; realistically, it's likely to do even worse. Her label is doing bare minimum with her and it's baffling. What's the point in signing a foreign artist if you aren't going to put in the groundwork to help them actually break the market.

I generally think there isn't a strong market in the US for their type of music, but idk. Tyla was doomed from release though because the music was just kinda meh. I was hoping for at least a few more bops.

Hilarious when crap music gets lots of success all of the time. Quality of music is subjective and a non factor.

A VMA performance of her and Zara performing She Did It Again could definitely help the era!

VMA performance would be perfect, but not holding my breath....and hopefully it is a performance for "That Girl" lol

This is true but Tyla is a foreign Black woman not making the type of sh*tty music that's popular right now.

I mean yes, the country slop and ambient music that's infecting the charts right now is awful but it's the kind of awful the GP likes. Tyla's mid album is not. She pretty much has to hit a goldmine with her sound and get great word of mouth in ways Morgan Wallen doesn't have to cause he can sh*t out whatever and it smashes.

I dont put all the blame on her. Black artists are struggling in America too-been losin so much power in the last years. Look at Doja Cat and Tinashe—her new single is doing nothing. Country is taking over everything, and there are also all these white pop girls competition (swift+chappel+sabrina+tate+billie+gracie+gaga+ari+miley). I honestly feel like Tyla is in a very disadvantaged position, sadly. And yeah, Afrobeats has been losing steam specially with youtube not counted anymore for billboard. Shakira's song worked because it was insanely catchy (she worked months for it) and had the World Cup promo behind it

Tyla has a problem too cause she's not particularly liked by American audiences. I think her personality can feel a bit disconnected from them because she comes from a completely different continent and culture and yes some of the colorist controversy thing and stuff lol

I watched an interview with Tyla and SZA, and I was like… look at the difference how they interact with the audiences
I even feel like Zara Larsson's personality is much more naturally akin to American audiences. Tyla seems very attached to her culture and nationality and roots, which I actually love, but I wonder if that makes it harder for her to fully be embraced by mainstream American audiences (the key of global longevity-success)

Not factual info. Just giving my random opinion. If im wrong correct me sistrens.

I dont care if this flopped. There's time to turn the boat around gayriahcat1
Just dont give up on your album tyla. Keep promoting and yes its time to move to R&B and something new
Hire Nova Wav and the best american producers girly. You have the money. Tour and reach a new audience.
Come back stronger than ever. Save your career.

People acting like she was a huge album seller before this one, let's not

Where have I been? YouTube audio streams don't count for Billboard anymore?

A lot of artists will suffer because of this!

This album has been on repeat for me and reviews have been really good from critics. I can't wait to see her on tour this fall duca

Feel Something is my current fave jamming

The real tragedy is having SELFISH ready as her next Afro beats single and not being included … I guess they did try to stay away from her main public

Afrobeats person here. My take is that genre is making a resurgence, everyone is hitting new milestones on streaming, the festivals this summer have been filled to capacity from Afronation to rock in Rio and even Burnaboy headlining Raggealand. They've lowkey erased or are erasing Tyla from that genre. It seems like Afrobeats resurgence excludes Tyla and those that consume the genre don't want her in their spaces.
