Honestly, the mod who gave me 2 warning points and restricted me from posting for this post is pathetic as f*ck.

How can this forum be so woke for one things and so anti-progressive for others.

You can disagree with me, but how the f*ck standing up for women's rights and being against the commodification of women's bodies for the rich is a banneable offense?

People will write essays about capitalism, class inequality and exploitation, then the second surrogacy comes up they suddenly become free-market absolutists. A wealthy person paying a woman to take on pregnancy, childbirth, medical risk and permanent bodily consequences for them is apparently "empowerment" now. Give me a f*cking break.

The fact that thinking that babies shouldn't be bought and women's bodies shouldn't be for sale is a bannable offense on this forum is honestly pathetic. Yall can ban me again if you want, i know my morals are in the right place.

So do we have confirmation that Gaga took advantage of an impoverished woman or are you getting hysterical over a hypothetical?

There's a time and a place for debate over the concept of surrogacy but if you're ranting bc you just don't like Gaga then you deserve the WPs you get

Yeah I think all that was excessive, although that thread and the Gaga news in general brought a lot of trolls and horrible vitriol, this just seems like usual standard criticism. So unless there's context here that I don't know, I don't get how anything in your post is against the rules, or an attack towards Gaga specifically. While surrogacy is a complex topic and stans are bound to use it as a way to be horrible, this case wasn't that. But mods are human too I guess and maybe the one who warned you felt you were attacking their fave. And whenever I remember it was perfectly okay to make all sorts of jokes and a whole banner when Rihanna's house with her family including her two month old child was shot at, with no repercussions and myself getting attacked by a mod when I pointed out how wrong that was, to you getting this much punishment for a generally harmless post is wild.

just say you are a miserable OGH cloaking your hateful antics under moral superiority and trying to act righteous

we don't need the essays or feigning morality or virtue signaling

I think the "problem" with this take is that nothing is confirmed?

Other than that, yes, unregulated commercial surrogacy is a nuanced discussion we could be having.

There were some horrible things said after the news, and some people were rightfully banned, but I don't see what was wrong with that post. Since this is a pop forum where members discuss social issues, then even an OGH (don't really know the person well enough to say whether they are or not) should still voice their opinions in the spirit of freedom of expression as long as it's not against the rules and they're not being horrible. You make it sound worse and like the points and ban they received were because they're an OGH and not because they broke rules.

Your entire post was assumptions and misinformation though. We don't know if she used a surrogate and if so, we don't know her income. You then painted the process of surrogacy as stealing someone else's baby when it's a mutual agreement. This whole anti-surrogacy thing is just anti-abortion rhetoric with a few words substituted, denying agency to a woman to make her own choices regarding her reproductive health. All the leftist buzzwords and allusions to capitalist exploitation is just to make you feel better about trying to control a woman's uterus like conservatives do.

The way I forbid myself to enter that Gaga and surrogacy threads this week so that I couldn't look at awful takes like comparing anti-surrogacy to anti-abortion. Oh god, this place is so stupidly brain-dead. rip

Took some time off ATRL thinking this site would be fixed when I came back only for the civics thread to still be unreadable when the page reloads and all the embedded tweets open in succession rip I guess that's on me for having any expectations nnn

This is not a ATRL issue, it’s a Invision issue.

My bad king. I don't even mind all the ads but that issue is the one that really bugs me bc it makes reading the midterms thread a pain in the ass ducky

With the growth of technology, we might be able to achieve robotic surrogacy where we wont even need women at all to go through all that nonsense. It might be a controversial thing but i believe surrogacy is the right way towards freeing women from unnecessary pain and hardship.

Lets look ahead into the bright future and hope women and their bodies need no discussion as soon as possible.

It's kind of ironic for you to be so vehemently against surrogacy because of "ethics", but be so pro AI
