I don't love the idea that anything Gaga does with big monstrous/industrial beats or gothic imagery is labeled as "reheating nachos" when both those things can have millions of varied manifestations. Mayhem offers so much more than similarities to TFM/BTW here and there, especially when it loaded Ga's discog with more rock/funk songs.

Chromatica and Mayhem being labeled "return to form" albums undercuts unique themes those albums explored (Chrome with mental health and Mayhem with duality and excess). Like, I really hope critics try harder to understand what LG8 ends up talking about instead of trying to see how any of the material resembles any of her previous work.
