Tbf she'd still own royalties on something like that. She also probably does get a portion of the revenue from the master recording rights it will be part of her contract that she gets a percentage of that but smaller than what the label gets. Maybe she'll want to buy her masters one day, if she does I hope her Label doesn't do what Taylor's did.

It would depend on what kind of deal she got. Like The Weeknd just got $1 billion in cash for his catalogue up to 2025 and he and his team keep creative control. Also they're invested in the company that bought it so they get a share of those profits too. Conversely, Bieber, Britney, and Katy all seem to have sold in the $200-$250 million range.

I think Gaga could pull a deal similar to The Weeknd if she wanted to. Given her hits have good recurrents, her early and latest albums are still charting, and she's had successful albums across three different decades and multiple genres, I think she could easily command north of $300 million for her catalogue (or her share of the publishing is I'm sure what would be sold). The fact that she's so heavily involved in the creation of her work would help her command more money for it.

I think it's in her best interest to hond onto it though. She has the touring power to make that kind of money anyways and I doubt her and Michael are hurting for money. She could always sell it later if she felt the need to, and she could will the rights to any family members so they could live comfortably. I think that's one reason Britney sold hers, she doesn't want her family to get ****.

Both of them seem pretty financially responsible (and extremely wealthy of course). I'm really excited to see how future eras play out as she's on a creative high rn and he seems like he appreciates what she makes and wants it to be on as large a scale as possible.

Take this with a grain of salt, but someone that works in the industry once told me that she doesn't have a big enough ownership a good chunk of the track recordings from her early years and this is one of the reasons why some tracks have remained unreleased or sold. I was also told some people she no longer associates with could also get a big percentage of any benefit from pre-Joanne tracks.
