Not interested in getting into it but all I'll say is that when you reach the level of fame and wealth of Gar and Michael, I honestly don't think there's a way of conducting business in an ethical fashion. Hell, even all of the tech we're using to communicate on this website was created by companies with horrible CEOs. I was looking into that Lightspeed company and they also invested in Snapchat. Are we coming for everyone who uses Snap too?

Idk y'all, there's really no way to ethically consume anything these days. Obviously the situation isn't ideal, but we're all part of this crappy system. And unfortunately, Gar is part of a group of people who can make tons of money while ignoring ethical concerns. I know we expect more of her, but she's not a saint. She's a pop star.

This. Also, USA is behind a majority of the modern world's genocides. So should we also stop supporting anything made in America? China isn't exactly a good alternative either. So nothing made in China either? Where should we draw the line?

What she does with her money is not anybody's business, and nothing in this world is morally ethic anymore, even just using this forum is bad for the environment if we go by that. You can never win, and with these people they will find a way to bring her down so whatever.

Anyone criticizing her for performing for two gay people that are getting married should just shut the hell up. Enough.

These endless discussions about her 'ethic' as if you started stanning Greta Thunberg and not a rich popstar that since the beginning of her career was flaunting multiple luxury outfit a day and companies advertisements/collaborations in her music videos has honestly became tired and stale in 2026.

If some of you are so concerned about moral and ethic you shoudn't even be part of this board to begin with as others pointed out already, let alone stanning a multimilionaire (probably bilionaire soon or already) popstar.

I can somewhat seperate her art from her business practices, because I think Gaga as a person generally contributes more good than bad to this planet, but like... some of y'all are a LOT defending every little thing she does as if she was an extension of yourself. I can stan Gaga and her music and still be comfortable criticizing some of her choices and not agreeing with them. suburban

Of course you can. The thing is no one cares. Literally no one. Not her, not the gays getting married, not even other stans.

Not all choices are equal and wealthy people have a lot more freedom to make choices. We can acknowledge a celebrity's poor choices without being hypocrites and we're not obligated to downplay or deflect from them just because we identify as their stans

You can invite some local DJ to your wedding, the one that you can afford. The DJ will make some money. The gay couple invited Lady Gaga because they can. She wants to earn money for her job. Because she can. That's all there is. Criticizing this because one has not enough money to do that is beyond pointless and tired.

We can agree to disagree then. You don't have to think about the ethics of people's career decisions if you don't want to, but on a forum it's certainly not pointless for members to share their opinions on it. Are we only supposed to be positive here?

I hope the same (lack of) energy is given to Beyoncé, Taylor or Katy with the choices they make

Her silence on several matters could also be an indication that she's trying to lessen the load of any mental and emotional stress. This could be a coping mechanism or a preventive measure to protect her overall health. Emotional and Physical Stress triggers Fibromyalgia. She can only take on what she can fight for incrementally, with less toll on her mental and physical health.

And Let's be realistic here. Any issues or conflicts that are caused on a geopolitical scale are a generational problem, and it may take a quarter of a century to fully resolve. Especially if it involves the most powerful country on earth and an economic umbilical cord that is a lifeline to many of the world's major economies.

We shouldn't put pop stars to solve the world's problems but instead hold our politicians more accountable.

I agree about discussing ethics and career choices when and if the choices are harming to others. This gay wedding gig is none of our business imo and I'm happy for the filthy rich gays that can afford to invite Lady Gaga. And I'm happy for her that she's getting coins.

I don't defend her but I just can't wrap my head around being letdown over Gaga acting the way she's acted for the past decade at least. It's like, this is who she is, she's not some radical leftist.

I'd understand it if she were performing for a homophobic billionaire or something... but she's never striken me as anti-capitalist.

Maybe she should mix more philanthropy into her downtime because quite frankly it does feel like she's always chasing a coin whenever she's not releasing music and she's already loaded. Maybe she does already but idk, world is feeling so dark nowadays and she used to be such a light and because of that I held her to a higher standard but now she feels more like Beyonce or Taylor in terms of her public presence which is shame, really only like her for her art now and can't really take much away from her personally which sucks for me to even say and I don't see the point in defending her when she dgaf.

Extreme wealth is harmful to others though. Discussions around billionaires being unethical aren't new, both on this forum and in general. I do get that there's nothing we can do to change the decisions she makes and extreme wealth is a problem far greater than her, but that in itself shouldn't exclude her from criticism. In fact, harsher discussions around her own wealth should be expected as she approaches billionaire status herself (if she's not already there.) On that, I can almost guarantee that if we did some research and found the threads on here when Beyoncé and Taylor became billionaires, there'll be liddos in those threads being shady, same way when she becomes a billionaire, there'll be hive members and swifters being shady to her. I mean they already are. skull

Anyway, I guess the user who said a few pages ago that nothing can really be consumed ethically anymore hit it on the head the best. But I still think it's okay for fans to express disappointment seeing the more capitalist side of her coming out. It's so much bigger than all of us discussing it on here anyway.

I guess we really should agree to disagree. Thank you for continous efforts in explaining. I still think there is nothing wrong with her earning more money, with me or anyone else trying to make more money - if we're doing so by not harming anyone - and it that case, I think she's just fine.

So much drama. It feels like some of you always wanna find something to drag her about. deadbanana

Exactly. Like mind your own business for godsake.

They probably just want her to be releasing music all the time, and then complain it doesn't fit the exact way they want it to be, and not stream it. Some of you self righteous people should just unstan
