Confessions II releasing in July with an April lead single really does help support the May 29th theory - nobody seems to want to release around that time.

I guess the bigger question is, do industry insiders actually get a heads up when Bey is set to release, or do they just assume May 29th because, like the rest of us, the logic fits?

I don't work in the music industry, but I assume there's the whole "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" mentality. It does them all well to receive some semblance of a heads-up from each other. It's probably the highest levels communicating with each other, so when they're going over their quarterly slate, they can tell their team, "No, that date is taken by a major artist."

No one wants to put millions of dollars behind a record only for it to be overshadowed in the press.

Which makes the release of ST even more of a gag. She really pulled that off

too many people have been speculating about May for too long which makes me feel like we won't get anything but maybe a delayed MET Instagram post

I don't think she's the contrarian some of you think she is. It's like how anytime someone posts a rumor, credible or otherwise, and slow Twitter Hive replies, "Great, now she's scrapping the whole thing. 🙄"

She enjoys innovating and doing new things. When she says she doesn't want to be predictable, it's not for the sake of unpredictability. She wants to push herself -- she doesn't care if someone has guessed the date of her album, or pieced together the storyline of the visuals. She's going to work on the album until it's time to turn it in. If something goes really wrong, she'll push dates. But didn't she even say during the Renaissance release party that she knows she has to stop herself eventually? Otherwise, she'll always find something to work on.

There is a date locked in. There are hundreds of people behind the scenes, not just at Parkwood, but at Columbia, too. That date is probably tied to the Met Gala, as she specifically said in GQ that she doesn't show up on a red carpet for no reason anymore.

I focus on storytelling, growth, and quality. I'm not focused on perfectionism. I focus on evolution, innovation, and shifting perception. Working on the music for Cowboy Carter and launching this exciting new project feel nothing like prison, nor a burden. In fact, I only work on what liberates me. It is fame that can at times feel like prison. So, when you don't see me on red carpets, and when I disappear until I have art to share, that's why.

Those are not the words of a woman attending what is essentially an event straight out of The Capitol in The Hunger Games for no reason.

They can't actually get down to why they may think something isn't as good as others do without revealing they are just exhibiting a personal preference so they rely on broad things that don't even matter. Beychella is a true work of art, not only for how amazing it is, but in contrast to what the other "great" Coachella examples are, it stands out in its simplicity of concept and execution. A great idea, done well. That's all it needed.

well yes the stale "great, now she's gonna scrap it" **** is also a major pet peeve of mine, like she doesn't even bother scrapping visuals she was literally seen filming… well, outside the renaissance ones at least

i agree that her showing up at the MET is obviously because she has something to show up for but in no way does it prove she's releasing an album on the 29th just because her fans decided that's the pattern we're going with. she could release a single that day and release the album months later, she can announce the album that day and it come out 3 months later, she could release a single and not even mention the album, she could just not release anything at all, she could just be going because jeff bezos offered her a ton of cash or her PR team thinks it'll polish up her and jay's current (tragic) image and not tease anything and go home afterwards…

all i'm saying is as it stands rn, the MET is about 2 weeks away and there's no indication of her releasing anything anytime soon, the last somewhat credible news we got was about the album being delayed and the 1.5-2 month window between single(s) and album release is about to close…

Exactly. I'm not saying the album is coming, but something related to the album is likely to happen.

By your own post, just because the 1.5-month window is about to close doesn't mean she can't release a single on May 1 or 5 and release the album on May 29. The 1.5 month window is an assumption based on the pattern of the last two acts. Nothing is set in stone.

I think this will be the case, she used Super Bowl to her advantage in 2024 and did a Vogue shoot to coincide with BMS release in 2022. She's not going to the Met Gala for no reason.

Everything condensed down to the month of May sounds great to me. At least she's not gonna miss the mark completely when it comes to the preorder phase. One of the biggest ****-ups of the CC rollout.

yeah but if we/she follow one pattern we also gotta follow the other one, we can't pick a choose. plus announcing and releasing an album in under 1 month would be tragic for her first week sales, especially with her vinyl track record

if she doesn't release something by early may at the latest the album isn't coming before june at the earliest

What Beyoncé album deserves a sequel?

If you followed the same logic as Confessions II, you would probably end up picking IASF or Rennie. Either a commercial or creative peak. Or at the very least, pervasive and iconic culturally.

But if I had to pick one, I think I would choose B'Day.

Why? It's an album that never really got its flowers. It was before poptimism and the way it was marketed and promoted undervalued it.

Beyoncé has grown so much sonically since then, but she also thrives in sonic environments where she is encouraged to explore freedom and joy (à la Rennie). It would be cool to hear her go back to the funk, soul and rnb sonic world of B'Day, but levelled up, more mature and complex.
