i like halle's impact on album title and cover

i dont like the way hilary sings on this record. just to preface, i am not really familiar with her, im one of the rare zillenials who ignored hilary duff because she wasnt "giving", she was too "mid" compared to likes like britney lol (in terms of music), but i did hear her previous album breathe in breathe out and i hear she did open her jaw a little bit more there but she still has very limited vocals which is fine, but unlike lets say selena gomez she doesnt have interesting tone, her tone is overly cute, which is okay for few tracks but whole album sound like "cute whisper" gets kind of one note.

having same solution for production doesnt help. but what i loved is her songwriting, im super impressed with optimist, wow hilary, and future tripping. overall sound is too "old school", ok nostalgia bait i get it, but its boring if it doesnt bring anything fresh at the same time (like danny l harle who got same "grade" on metacritic if i recall correctly). i like production on holiday party, its a bit easier to listen since her voice is so "limited" (you are scared as listener will she pass out if she takes on longer note), airy production gives her "room" and listener can relax. i think she can benefit a lot with adlibs which she figured to put on tell me that wont happen, but melody is so "retro" i cant even. its very simple. adult size medium is one of the more interesting tracks both production wise and song writing. i wish whole album went that route. itd be insane.

all in all album is ok, just with lots of "flaws".

The way this album is flaw free and lives rent free in my mind at ALL times.

Tell Me That Won't Happen, Holiday Party and Weather For Tennis are complete masterpieces. And Growing Up, the only not 10/10 song still snatches because her vocals are the best produced on that song.

I can't listen to her on Stationhead every morning cause, well I have job, but I love to hear that she would like to work on another album soon.

I really hope she still does Pretty Ugly so then we could expect a new album in 4 or 5 years!

Metamorphosis, Dignity, and Hilary Duff self-titled (it's a mixed bag but has some fantastic pop-rock tracks)! Start there. She's a well-rounded artist who explores with different sounds and genres. Her previous album is great, but I'd start with her older work first.

Also highly recommend Holiday, one of her best songs, specifically this remix version:

I keep imagining a video for Holiday Party that's similar to Stranger, except the cheating is more apparent. Only for it to be a dream after all. A lot of quick snapshots during the final verse.

We deserve more music videos this era but I fear they won't give her the budget. This album just SCREAMS visual album to me.

Finally got to listen, the first part is so same-y, almost sounds like 1 song. The STIUTK of We Don't Talk is funny. I really love The Optimist, it's giving Kacey's Architect, Honeymoon & Holiday Party are great.

Spotify autoplayed Outside of You and I was like, wow, finally a great oomph track and it's from Dignity The album s very lyrically-driven, gotta take time with it but it's definitely a great album, happy for Hil getting her way

This album would hit really hard if I was a 37 year old orange wine mom of 2 young kids. It's cute! It reminds me of evenings before you do groceries and you want a snack but there's nothing in the fridge so you're just eating white bread and it's bland but kinda good in the moment and you appreciate it. This album's white bread down. And I mean that in a neutral way! I'd even say white bread with butter cause the lyrics go so deep sometimes it's kinda fierce like the most safe sounding pop song you've ever heard with lyrics about how she wished her dad loved her. We will be streaming!

Dignity for sure, then BIBO, from Most Wanted (Wake Up, Beat of My Heart, Break My Heart), from Hilary Duff (Fly, Underneath This Smile, Shine) and if you like them listen to the whole thing. Metamorphosis is the reference for the GP.

Just came with no expectations about this album but it's actually good, I like it.

It's an honest album and I like her sound. Growing Up and We Don't Talk are my favorite right now. And I still have Mature on repeat
