Does anyone else feel like their dislike of religion has gone up this past two years?

 

I grew up in a religious household and although I hated it and stopped practicing as a teenager, I never really hated religious people and always respected community or the valuable aspects of religion aka "loving thy neighbor" "god loves everyone" etc.

 

but recently I just feel overwhelmed with all of the evil they're all doing. Zionism as a whole and the way they control the governments and media, the cultural practices of Islam and how child marriage directly encourages pedophilia yet women and queer people are treated with the utmost contempt in those societies.. and don't even get me started on Christianity. I feel like the church and its members are always on the wrong side of history and have a hand in some of humanity's darkest moments. I'm also noticing that whenever I see people saying disgusting, evil **** to others online, I click there bio and there's always some Bible verse or "god is king ✝️" bullshit in their bio.

 

when I was a child I was afraid of going to hell for liking boys, but apparently Jesus loves white pedophiles that trap the world in debt slavery and funnel resources up to .1% of people deemed worthy to have them, while the rest of us are workhorses. I think we're already IN hell, what could be worse than the darkness and atrocity that happens here every day? 
 

Sorry for the rant, I just find that even seeing these people say anything makes me wanna backhand them recently  

Yep, religious fundamentalism is so strong right now, I see it everywhere and getting worse and worse.

I've always hated it. For me it's a form of mass hysteria/mental illness. How you can be an adult and believe in fairytales is beyond me..

There are three types of extremely religious people: the mentally ill, the grifters, or the ones who use religion to conceal something hideous. Then, there are people who are religious but don't make it a personality.

I grew up in an atheist household and never suffered from religion, so I don't hold any grudge against it. I respect religious people as long as they respect me. Still, I find some of them idiotic, hypocritical, and plain ignorant.

never liked them to begin with. dont care about their delulu a** as long as they stay the f*** in their lanes but they have crossed multiple lanes all the time

I wouldn't say I hate them, but I just don't understand them anymore. I used to be very spiritual (pagan) myself and maybe I still am a little. But the older I get, the less spiritual I have become. I don't understand how people can be so extreme and cult-like. I also find many of them very hypocritical. Some religious people do so many bad things and still think they're the good guys.

You’re definitely not alone. I have a lot of religious trauma to work through and the more you talk about it, the more you realize how common it is.

I'm all for faith when someone feels low and needs something to turn to but religion is mostly used as a weapon of violence and division so it's hard not to absolutely detest it 

What I don't like are gays who you find in this hook-up apps but once you see their IG profile, you'll find bible verses on the bio. You can even see their stories as a mix of bible study/ worship service and them flexing in the gym. 
 

For me very pious gays are very red flag.

Coming from experience also. I had a f*ckbuddy who wanted to stop seeing me because he wants to focus on his spirituality only for me to find out he had hooked up with a common friend the week after. 

completely agree. religious people often use their faith as a way of justifying their contempt towards other people but they're the biggest freaks behind closed doors. 

 

I just don't get the showiness of it. Are people who post the most heinous and evil **** but have bible verses or cross icons over there accounts doing it as a grift? Telling everyone you are a Christian at every turn is a red flag to me 

 

then you have these degenerate doing the most fuvked up stuff mon through sat thinking it's okay because they will go to church on Sunday like it's a reset button. It's insane  

American Christians would crucify Jesus again if he were to reemerge in our time and preach his teachings for being 'Un-Christian'.

Nah, I don't hate them. Religious people are the gift that keeps giving. I love reading their history and hypocrisy around it and i just laugh. I used to be super religious cause i born in one and my family is but as i grew up i saw right though it so i know the weak points as like ex-fan but i just don't react much since im in a super religious country and I could get stoned to death or jailed so I'm just chill and drop some logic here and there if it start to get too much in the discussion and they be change the topic to like "how its going to rain tonight."

it's always been quite strange to me but i've also not really ever been exposed to it day to day. the USA is definitely a culture shock with how prominent christianity still is. even more so seeing younger US generations. 

Religious people have been hypocrites since the Middle Ages. Preaching so much about charity etc but these churches literally stole valuable resources from their people to build these over the top extravagant churches 

I think religion is a societal mental disease.

i don't have a problem with religious people who don't hate on others for being gay or trans or anything and don't harass me to join the religion.

As long as you don't involve me with your cult and religious non sense / spouting on people who apparently defies the laws of god then we can go on with our own lives 

I don't know if I *hate* all religion (I hate all of 'em mostly because they use it as a weapon to discriminate against people and extort money from people) as much as I just pity them. 

 

The entire thing sounds like a scam. Think about it, if some random person on the street came up to you and was like "Okay, so here's the thing. There's a magic dude up in the sky. He made everything and is omnipotent and controls everything too. Not gonna stop cancer though btw. Anyways, there's this book detailing all the rules. He didn't write it but some dudes totally heard him through their minds and they wrote it. Trust me it's real. Also his son which he made a random woman give birth to walked on water, turned water into wine, and he came back to life. No proof but trust me. Actually there isn't proof he was even a real person but once again just trust me. You also need to give us 10% of your paycheck every Sunday. OH and btw if you don't believe in him 100% without question, you will be burning and tortured for eternity in a fiery pit of despair but if you DO believe in him, you will go to paradise and see all your dead loved ones. But only if you believe!! So you better do it if you want to see your dead mother! Don't question it though. Trust me."

You would think this person was on some serious drugs. You just have got to suspend all rational logical belief for any of this to be true. It doesn't make sense. I pity these people because they clearly aren't coping well with mortality. It's what the Greeks and Romans did: made up stories to explain natural phenomena.
