Europe has problems, but none that can't be solved. We are a powerful continent with growing armies in Poland, Germany and France. Europe is always portrayed as weaker than it actually is. Russia hasn't even managed to take over a poor country like Ukraine, yet it's supposed to take over Europe. Lol. A dream of left- and rightwing extremists (including ATRLs tankies who love Russia) that, unfortunately for you, will not come true. I also have to laugh at the people here who praise China and Saudi Arabia. Those countries, too, have massive problems, including widespread poverty in Saudi Arabia. But I guess that doesn't fit into your propaganda narrative.

I grew up in a small town and am glad I moved to a big city. Big cities are full of life, small towns have nothing. Crime isn't a universal problem, either. Not every country is like the US. I live in a big city in Germany and have never really felt unsafe. I go out at night regularly. I don't need a car for everything either. I just take the subway or walk, since there's a store or a doctor everywhere here. There's a large LGBT+ community and a lot of diversity. I'd rather pay more for my apartment than ever live in a small town again.

I wouldn't call myself patriotic but I'm glad that I was born in Germany and not in for example Russia or a country in the Middle East. The west isn't perfect but it's a million times better for LGBT+ people than any other place in this world and gays in the west take too many things for granted. I live in a country where I have the right to get married to my same sex partner, adopt children, the laws protect me, I can openly talk about my sexuality etc. Most gay people in this world don't have those rights. Germany isn't perfect but it's good and it's getting better.

Unpopular opinion but it's true. I will never understand leftists who defend countries like Iran or Russia. I understand Palestine and I agree. What is happening in Palestine is wrong and no one should defend that. That being said, I'm tired of leftists constantly hating the west/Europe/USA and supporting countries like Iran or even Russia in some cases. As a gay man I'm glad I was born in Europe and not in an islamic country or Russia.

Yeah, that's what these leftists here want because they hate Europe. Europe/the West/USA bad, Russia/China good. That's the ideology of the people here. There is no difference between the far left and the far right. They are both the same and they're both terrible.

I prefer living in a country with a strong military that can defend me against aggressors like Russia. German leftists hate the Bundeswehr but never give an answer on how exactly they plan to defend Germany in the case a country like Russia attacks us. According to them it's just fear mongering. And other countries being scared of us is funny. As if they don't have growing far right parties. France is a nuclear power and their far right party could win the next election. Most European countries are controlled by or have growing far right parties. Both the far right and the far left are terrible and should not be in control of our country.

I work as a geriatric nurse and yeah, you can find a job anywhere and the pay is now very good as well. However, it is a difficult and mentally challenging profession.

Europeans continue to work toward their own decline. I agree that we need to do much more about security and that immigration shouldn't mean that anyone can come. Nevertheless, Europe needs immigration. And even more than that, Europe needs the EU. I really can't understand how people can be so Anti-EU. By 2050, Europe will no longer play a big role on the world stage. Even united. We need the EU more than ever. It's better to be a part of a big group like the EU than to just be a solo country with a small and aging population. Parties like the AfD will cause so much damage and only hinder this development. But that's what the voters want and honestly? I don't care anymore. Let them drive the car into the wall. Btw. this right wing wave isn't exclusive to the west. It's also happening in South Korea, Japan and other countries. It's not just immigration.

This. I'm gay and I have never done drugs and I don't know any gays who have done it. Maybe it is a problem in America or has something to do with the social groups you guys are hanging out with but it's not an universal problem. I do think some gay men are too obsessed with sex and fetish tho. At the end of the day, we are all individuals. We are all gay and have to fight for our rights but that doesn't mean we have to have things in common with each other and share the same interests. I don't identify with that part of the gay community.

I agree (though I would say that Gen Z is more conservative than Millennials)! The 2000s were much worse when it came to LGBT+ rights. The majority of people were homophobic and there was absolutely no discussion of trans rights at all. It's true that there's currently a conservative backlash. It began around 2015. Since then, the world has become increasingly conservative. Right-wing parties have won elections or grown stronger and social media has also become more conservative. Imo, we're currently at the peak of this trend. But the world isn't lost. Phases like this happen from time to time and a new era will come. I'm optimistic about the future.

I work as a nurse and have experienced this too (in Germany). Not directed at me, but at my colleagues. Fortunately, I have a very good employer who doesn't tolerate racism or homophobia and management makes it clear to patients that racism will not be tolerated.

I'm 32 and I like their music, lol. I don't know if it's because of this site or because most people here are from America and Americans just have a different music taste, but I often notice that people on this site have a problem with K-pop and in general music from outside the U.S. I think a lot of people here take pop music too seriously sometimes and this site is often just out of touch with current trends. Music doesn't always have to be serious. Music can also just be fun, meaningless and chaotic. I think a lot of pop artists from the U.S. take themselves too seriously, which often makes their music boring.

He's right. Some gay men are very homophobic. I find it annoying how some gay men try to act like straight guys and are ashamed of being part of the LGBT+ community. It just comes across as forced. Sure, not all of us are feminine or want to be feminine or like it, and that's okay. We're all different, and that's a good thing, but this forced masculinity is just cringe.
