Did underestimate Gracie Abrams' streaming power?

Featured Replies

Boo.

I've noticed that despite no huge releases (aside from the live rendition of a new song titled 'Death Wish', which seems to be a standalone single anyway), Gracie Abrams' discography is still being streamed not even just equally to her blowup year, 2024, but it seems that her music's becoming even MORE popular.

Don't believe me? Here are the receipts:

The random bonus track that ended up becoming her biggest song maintaining relevancy and longevity ('That's So True'), MULTIPLE songs, including deepcuts and bonus tracks, becoming viral ('I Told You Things', 'us. (feat. Taylor Swift)' & 'Let It Happen') and 'The Secret Of Us' becoming one of the BIGGEST albums from 2024, surpassing some of the ATRL's cult classics and fan favorites.

So, which excuse could we make up for this? Is Gracie's nepobaby payola getting too out of hand? Could it be the political climate? Or is it real success and Gracie's deserving of being an MPG? Spill!

The way she is singing deeper in that I Told You Things video sounds SO much better than how she sings on record. She sounds so frail and meek on her recorded tracks, whereas that video proved she has a deeper register she can access. I lowkey think she kinda puts on the voice on record for that indie girl effect.

I remember when we were told we were delusional for saying Eras helped Sabrina because otherwise Gracie would be pulling big numbers as well :suburban:

Most of the TayDaughter and TaySons are flourishing right now

Not surprised

I mean Taylor was off this year but new TaySon emerged to success. It has become very common now. Only ATRL and paid media underestimates the impact

She focuses on melodies first and foremost, you'd be hard pressed to find a track on the whole record that doesn't have a strong hook, the guitar can be redundant but it truly is a timeless sound. The Taylor co-sign is cute but she wouldn't be anywhere she is now if she didn't have any merit to her works, TSOU is genuinely a good acoustic-pop record, lyrically its also very resonant to its core audience (late teens and 20s women).

What "TaySon" is that?

Alex Warren literally

Even his track titles are inspired by Taylor albums , even the album name.

She's just rated imo. Her numbers are good but there also doesn't seem like a lot of interest outside of That's So True. Kinda reminds me of pre rebrand Tate

She has definitely been training her voice intensively, all of her live renditions are VERY different from her studio records. I feel like GA3 will be the album where she shows off her vocal range even more

her sounds are always viral on tiktok. I quite like the melodies so I think I'll check out her album

Her numbers are good and no one can deny that, people here just hate here because she is Taylor's friend and she is son of the Star Wars director.

At the end, you can have money but you can't buy talent! she is talented, maybe she is not a good performer vocally but if people are supporting her, listening to her music and lyrics it is for a certain reason lol.
