Perrie - 'Perrie'

Featured Replies

You see, pop sounds so good when it's used right to a vocalist just like her. Love this album. Rocket Scientist and Baby Steps were superb. :clap3:

OK, on first listen this has surprised me, very hit heavy and would smash with a LM like campaign.

8/10 from Clash

I'm surprised at the positive critical reception so far :jonny: Thought they would drag her for having no identity

Very surprised by the very positive reactions in here. The album is not bad in any way, but it's just not exciting? Most songs sound very samey... Her voice is the best thing about this!

Same. Yes, I know my fave has been guilty of similar and I don't defend that either.

After Jade's debut just weeks prior, the standard had been set for me on what a solo Little Mix member could achieve.

I'm going to try give it multiple listens to see if it grows on me. :katie:

Okay just finished listening!

The album has this country-pop very acoustic vibe all over and that's not really my cup of tea. I think most songs lack energy or something that strikes your attention. They're just there which is a shame. I don't really get the Kelly Clarkson comparisons. This album is very mellow.

The Sand Dancer, Rocket Scientist, Baby Steps, Bonnie and Clyde, Pushing Up Daisies and Cut Aggression run was demonic. It almost made me quit but thank god I didn't because I enjoyed Miss You (incredible song), Where You Are, Same Place Different View and Goodbye My Friend.

I wish Woman in Love could be released because that one sounded promising. And Me Myself & You was her best droplet imo, it's the one that I wish wasn't cut off from the album.

Not you name the 4 worst songs :deadbanana2:

Wonder if the lack of comments in here is because people can't drag it the way they thought they'd be able to. :jonny6:

They're waiting for the Mid week album sales/position to decide wether they love it or hate it.

Is it fair to drag something for limited sales when it has 3 vinyl variants and 2 CDs compared to some other releases which have 10+ vinyl variants and multiple other physical formats?

No one is expecting this to do extraordinary sales.

plss no im only dragging tears on behalf of perrie :gaycat5:

Absofuckinglutely could be a single and I could see it smash. Perrie get to work NOW :giraffe:

Need to listen again in more depth before I offer any deeper insights but what I will say is that the songs where she is being more tongue in cheek and autobiographical in the lyrics are LEAPS AND BOUNDS ahead of the more 'generic' songs like You Go Your Way, Forget About Us etc

I actually think the album is very autobiographical and it's obvious she went back to the drawing board and changed the albums vision. I don't feel like sonically it sounds like Little Mix, it is mainly midtempo / ballad heavy and sounds like her storytelling her life and experiences.

Id had loved a few uptempo dance tracks but I guess that isn't Perries vision right now, maybe a chance for P2!

You're going to love Passenger Princess when it comes out, deffo uptempo and fun! It's very summery/breezy.

They'll be on the deluxe.

Tears is MILES MILESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS better than anything on this album by far

Cute Aggression is the only good song lowkey...

the album is very… adult contemporary (derogatory) :biblio:

maybe i should've expected this since i didn't care for the singles but i'm still disappointed
