I love Rocket Scientist , they need to send it to radio asap ( since it seems that uk radio loves Perrie ) 

The album is not bad but I find it very mid, sounds like something Kelly would sing to cater soccer moms  

 

Also, I don't get the hate for Tears, it's a catchy cute song.

Kelly took this AC direction when she was 33 and had family

 

Though this is her debut album, Perrie is actually 32 and about to have her 2nd kid. So i would say the sound is fitting for her 

It's pure, inoffensive pop in the best possible way.

Sometimes you just need a good pop album with good melodies, and that's it.

I find it quite refreshing. Plus, with a voice like that, she can get away with anything.

All of the criticism levelled her way when she was releasing songs like Tears, Rollercoaster etc were entirely fair and I'm glad that she went back to the studio and re-worked the album, as the songs that are more autobiographical are much better than her initial output. This project has much more personality to it than I thought was possible when she first launched her solo career and I'm very pleased to say that. 
 

The album is very rich in production value and the use of live instruments is a BIG yes from me - her voice was made for live bands. I think there are plenty of good pop songs with big hooks here, I appreciate the lyrical tone of songs like Sand Dancer and Absofuck*nglutely. 

 

I think that, overall, the album is pretty cohesive but does sort of toe the line between "fun pop" and "cheesy, saccharine pop". It is certainly not pushing any boundaries or reinventing the wheel, but what it does do for the most part is deliver big vocals, big pop moments and big production value. Most of the ballads are lacking in quality for me and the track list does at times feel a little bloated.

 

My overall rating for the album would probably be either a 6 or 7 out of 10. I was fearing she'd be getting a 4/10 so please consider this to be a positive review ddd

Put You First 

 

I wouldn't miss any of the above if they were taken off the album, tbh. 

 

I like all of the other songs to varying degrees and for various reasons. I like songs like Sand Dancer, Punchline and Absofuck*nglutely for the tongue in cheek and candid lyrical tone. I like songs like Bonnie and Clyde and Where You Are for the big crescendo moments. 
 

Not sure how many of these songs I'll come back to, but overall plenty to enjoy here.

Wow i didn't think i'd love this album....it sounds like a good Katy Perry album in the best way possible

I actually really like it... and to those saying it might be generic... honestly not everybody has to aspire to be groundbreaking genre-changing lady gaga style... and I'm sorry but Perrie's vocal (one of the best of our gen) carries the album solely

Rocket Scientist video was so cheap

 

Thankfully she's beautiful and her beauty carries the video as a whole cause otherwise it would be a mess

 

As of the album, it's amazing  it's so cohesive and i love how it sounds like a romcom soundtrack. It fits her voice, her personality, everything. This is her sound and her vibe.

 

My favorite ones are: IHWTHW, Cute Aggression, Sand Dancer, Pushing Up Daisies, Where You Are, Rocket Scientist and Absofuckinglutely. All of them are single worthy. As of the others, they're cute/nice to listen to. I listened to the album like 3 times with every song back to back while working today, it's a delight!! 

Also Pushing Up Daisies is not on physicals 

 

It's one of the best tracks though. Surprised it's another Ed-penned song

I think the album is let down by lazy A&Ring and trying to lean into the country-pop sound that's 'working' at UK radio right now. A lot of it feels like Ed Sheeran karaoke, which would have worked 10 years ago but just sounds so recycled now. She's an undeniable talent and phenomenal vocalist, I just hope for the next album (assuming she doesn't get dropped) she prioritises having a point of view over ticking industry boxes. She has so much potential as a solo artist, but I fear this whole project is dead on arrival. Tears was the closest thing she had to carving out a lane for herself, and she didn't even include it on the album because of poor commercial performance. These UK major labels need a hefty infusion of flavour, because this is giving Myles Smith in a different font (and octave).

I could not disagree with this point more. The album is cohesive and yes it is country-leaning but the reason why the album took this route is because Perrie gained the control in the end. Her label were pushing her to be inauthentic, she was forced to release Tears and on its release was absolutely destroyed for it, by everyone online and in commercial performance. It lead to an anxiety attack and Perrie had to go to therapy and take a social media break. It's only now, a year later that everyone is slowly becoming vocal saying it had identity and was a good song when they were saying she was faceless and releasing Selena demos when it was released.

My rating after listening to the album for a day now. I love the album. It's cohesive and strong. I know putting B&C as 15th will be controversial but I just love the other songs more.

 

Pushing Up Daisies would be the only song that I'd delete from the album but I am happy to listen to it on album runs

This is a cute pop album. Nothing special, but it's a nice listen. Her vocals are amazing.
