Perrie - 'Perrie'

Featured Replies

Okay I take what I said about the album being bad before it arrived. There're genuine surprises like Baby Steps, Bonnie and Clyde, Punchline, Goodbye My Friend (and IHWTHW sounds better for some reason lol). But it's as safe as it is sonically dated, which is very much stuck in 2015-16. She clearly didn't wanna alienate the LM audience but is that okay, or is she just too comfortable in this lane?

But babyy when she sang "go spread your wings, you know I'll be here when you come back again"

Wow, I actually love the album. The story telling is really clear.

My favourites of the new songs:

Rocket Scientist

Sand Dancer

Punchline

Where You Are

Absof***inglutely

Same Place Different View (that ending about hope has me emotional - beautiful song)

She's definitely found her sound!

I'm quite interested in how the og album would've sounded cause Tears, Goodbye My Friend, Rollercoaster and the unreleased ones Woman In Love and Rocket Ship sound quite cohesive and would've worked very well together imo

only just started listening but I LOVE rocket scientist :clap3: not surprising as I'm a big fan of Jon's work but this song is really great!

Few songs into the album and oh my lord baby steps and Bonnie and Clyde are sounding incredible :flame:

this is a really nice album! sand dancer is the only skip for me, the rest I found to be nice, good or great.

out of the new tracks, punchline, rocket scientist and absofuckinglutely are my favourites :clap3:

Loving this on first listen. Will def be coming back to this album.

Oh she's taking it :wanda:Everyone needs an easy breezy pop listen with incredible vocals and Perrie is the perfect fit :jamming:

I'm on my first listen through right now and I'm loving it so much!!

There are two I don't vibe with that much at the minute in first listen but it might change.

SO GLAD TO HAVE A ALBUM FULL OF PERRIE!

:jonny5:

Bonnie and Clyde, Punchline and Goodbye my friend are my faves on 1st listen, Same place, different view made me shed some tears :chick3:. The album is definitely what I was expecting from her, is cohesive and personal. Sonically is Perrie all around.

Highlights for me after my first listen:

Sand Dancer

Rocket Scientist

Baby Steps

Where You Are

Same Place, Different View :cries:

Goodbye My Friend :foxaylove:

+
Cute Aggression

IHWTHW

FAU

YGYW

I really think Where You Are should have been the lead single.

It sounds like a huge radio smash, it has the Shout Out reference and her voice is hauntingly powerful. You girlies better stream it :jonny4:

The smash that got away :deadbanana4:

Its better than I expected it to be from the very inconsistent and/or generic singles. Some cute gems in here. But overall it's lacking in vision and is too similar to LM. Ie the problem that has been plaguing her ever since her first single drop

Probably had Perrie debuted solo in 2017 and released this exact album, it would have been huge.

im literally obsessed with every single song,

omg at rocket scientist and baby steps

pop is so back

I actually think the album is very autobiographical and it's obvious she went back to the drawing board and changed the albums vision. I don't feel like sonically it sounds like Little Mix, it is mainly midtempo / ballad heavy and sounds like her storytelling her life and experiences.

Id had loved a few uptempo dance tracks but I guess that isn't Perries vision right now, maybe a chance for P2!

Liking this album.

My only criticism is it probably could have been 12-13 tracks instead, I'd ditch YGYW (Joy Anonymous, although I'd love the rock version on there instead), Rocket Scientist (Jon Bellion) and Pushing Daisies (Ed Sheeran). More because that would hone it down to being more Perrie.

Hmm

I was a bit harsh on Perrie cause it pissed me off that she was releasing random songs without identity but im happy she went to the right direction

So , on a good note I like this sound for her , she belts in almost every song , the sound is matching her voice and the songs are not terrible

On a bad note its too many songs you get lost and tired a bit.  I wish she would have kept a few for a deluxe a month later so you can have time to appreciate the songs better

On 1st listen Rocket Scientist and Bonnie & Clyde were the songs I want to go back to

Her voice is just incredible and quite cohesive record too:heart:

I just have to get used to this what some call Kelly Clarkson/Chappell Roan/Band instrument genre cause it is not what i normally listen (idk what its called).

after initial listen Forget About Us, Punchline, Put You First and Absofuckinglutely were my favorites (Rocket Ship, Tears, Woman In Love and Rollercoaster would've been great on the album too:heart2:)

Very surprised by the very positive reactions in here. The album is not bad in any way, but it's just not exciting? Most songs sound very samey... Her voice is the best thing about this!
