is it just me or is she such a captivating speaker

This really reminds you of how ordinary all of the current pop stars personlities are

I believe they're referring to Now I'm Following You, which was an obvious dance routine where she didn't even have a microphone in her hand.

 

But on the BAT, Express Yourself was also largely mimed, as well as Where's the Party. I'm torn on whether Vogue was mimed. She mentions the sound cutting out on her headset, but that number always seemed to have the same vocals.

 

I give Madonna a pass. Much of her shows are live.

She sings majority of her tours live anyway

Most of the show was live like you said, but parts of Express Yourself, Open Your Heart, almost all of Where's The Party, parts of Papa Don't Preach, and almost all of Vogue are mimed with certain parts of the song performed live. You can actually hear when she switches between live vocals and the precorded stuff clearer on some dates versus others, but I think it stayed pretty consistent throughout. Vogue had some rehearsal footage that included a mostly live vocal take, but maybe she felt that the she would be out of breath from the choreo during the show and chose to use the audio track instead? 

I think a lot of people do too much about lip syncing when it is actually an art form and Madonna's lip sync moments are always worth it.

She has a pattern of LipSync

 

Ususally the first song of the night to warm up

Vogue

2/3 heavy dance numbers

 

the rest is always live

honestly, if the choreo is that intricate or physically demanding of the artist, i dont mind there being a bit of lipsyncing during that specific number so long as the rest of the show is completely live. you pay for a performance, which is not JUST the vocals. its a show of a bit of everything in it. if you want just live vocals, go see a broadway show or a street performance or something

tbh, I have mixed opinions about lip-syncing, like it depends on the situartion, but as long as the audience knows and the fans don't mind, it doesn't bother me.

She also had a terrible throat infection at the time. She rehearsed EY live, but it sounded really rough. By the end of the tour, her voice was entirely shot. I'm surprised she didn't do irreparable damage to her voice.

She makes everyone look boring. My god i miss artists with a personality!

Pop stars today are so bland personality wise. I doubt they would even answer this as honestly.

Music videos aren't relevant like they used to be. Gen Z doesn't care about top notch vocals but they still want the artists to sing live. 

i agree completely with her. she ate half of atrl/stanverse up with that take

This was during the time when artists didn't have to wear Halloween costumes for attention. 
 

Talent was up front & centered! 

I mean, if someone serves an entertaining show with different dance routines or even theatrical , it's fine by me to have lipsync included since it can be very demanding to do those while also singing live if you have to do 2h of shows every day almost 

I find it criminal to do lipsync when an artist does nothing on stage but is mostly static and just sings.

They are Performers tho

 

 

and I doubt all of these artists would want to be associated with only 1 art form

despite their main thing being music

Did she stutter? 

 

This video is another proof she hasn't been surpassed. She always had that IT factor.

 

Fans from certain fanbases seem to care too much about live performances when the music is not even that good.
