People who have bad experiences with drugs/drug addicts and want to stay as far away as possible should be treated seriously and not as if they are the problem. Really weird responses in this thread

Your partner had a life before he was with you. And since he knows you're anti drugs he probably didn't tell you because he didn't want to cause the reaction you're having

Only an addict would fight it

I'm not saying to demonize causal drinking at all but people shouldn't minimize drinking, 3 of my family members died of cirrhosis it's just way more acceptable because alcohol companies are huge and push it as somethings harmless same as cigarettes

Your trauma is your own. Shaming others for using drugs is the reason why so many do not seek help in the first place.

There is a difference between saying 'I do not do drugs and I am looking for a partner who has a similar lifestyle to me' vs freaking out when your partner mentions they have tried drugs in the past. The excessive controlling and judgmental attitude from the OP is probably why their partner did not want to tell them about it before, and judging by OP's reaction they were right to be worried.

And I say this as someone who doesn't even drink alcohol and never tried any of the gay party drugs or chem s*x.

You are right, shaming people especially ones who want to do better is wrong. So is shaming OP, even if they reacted strongly for a two month relationship

Well they posted it here and asked for opinions :michael:

Oh, MESS. This type of person can easily ruin your life. Get away from them, yesterday.

Omg such weird responses in this thread. OP is talking about his BF takling METH and yall acting like it's no biggie.

Really showcases the normalization of hard drugs in the gay community.

And no, drinking a beer or a wine after work is not the same as taking f**king METH so keep those "but, but AlCoHOl" responses :rip:

Mephedrone is not meth :rip: They're as different as MDMA and heroin.

Oh.. no...wow.

Feels like that person has a huge history...it's up to you if you want to merge your hearts together or not.

But again you could always orchestrate revenge, it really depends.

Your boyfriend does knockoff meth and has chemsex with random men from gay bars.

He lied about doing it 3 times, he's probably lying about doing it 5 times (who's even counting at that point lol). Dump him and get tested asap.

that was last year tho

Everybody running in here to drag you for not being okay with drug use because they're insecure as **** about their own past is missing the issue. You made it known early that this is something you don't **** with and he intentionally lied to you about it. Any sane person would be having doubts, that's manipulative behavior and not a healthy way to start a relationship. :rip:

tbh, the bad thing isn't that he did it, it's bad that he lied about it.

I mean even if it's only two months it is something OP should at least keep in mind if he continues, what else will be not true at first because "I didn't know how you'd react"

It's not toxic. The other person lied, so it's absolutely fair to be upset about it. Trust is everything in a relationship and should never be compromised.

They didn't lie. They didn't say they've never touched it. They omitted to mention two occasions BEFORE they were together. To get mad about it when it may have honestly slipped his mind is wild. He hasn't broken trust. There wasn't a deal in place, and he's admitted to using the exact same substance in his past which is apparently the offence. To say it feels like "a betrayal" is ridiculous and toxic to the nth because all because  someone else hasn't lived their past in a way you would like them to. Everyone has a right to a past and to keep some things private in order to move on, and he didn't need to say anything but was honest anyway.

oh I didn't realize OP also made this thread lol

truthfully, talk to your partner. at the end of the day, it's your relationship, not ATRL's. communicate with him and then make a decision. good luck.

If they did it in the past (and it's in the past) then I don't see the issue. If they're doing it now and lying then that should be the end of your relationship.

Drugs is an immediate no for me in relationships so you guys probably aren't compatible.

Hate to break it to you but you don't have chemsex 5 times in the last year and not still be into it. :rip:

Yeah idk, he lied about doing it 3 times and then raised it to 5 times. Who is even counting after 2 or 3? It's giving that Lindsay Lohan/Oprah interview where she talks about doing coke 'only about 15 times'. I think he's hiding more, but what do I know.
