This might sound dumb but what is the square thing above the zipper on the cover?

Hyped for this but it feels like she's trying so hard to swing back to the more serious dark side after the (albeit slight) pivot towards light vibes of solar power

It's like a reference to Madonna's LAP cover, because it showed her crotch in unbuttoned jeans (also Bruce and RL did it as well), it represents exposure aka not holding back, being open and honest... which goes with the album description and as if Lorde took it a step further and just did a whole xray
