A french "rapper" is using a very controversial strategy to stay constantly at #1, it's funny because ATRL would cry (rightfully so) if Taylor ever did that (and it really puts things into perspective)

TTPD is one of my favorite Taylor albums, it really reminds me of a mature red.

Like someone above said, she really released that during her commercial peak. That's wild to think about and she doesn't get enough credit for it

Also it's certainly not the first time. People don't want to admit it but while 1989 is amazing and of course commercial, going full pop as a country darling was risky. Likewise, surprise dropping an alt-folk leaning album during the pandemic (and then a sister album where she didn't even have physical sales) was even more risky.

 

Let it be known: she takes plenty of risks, they just always pay off so people refuse to acknowledge them.
