I actually think she is kind of edgy. There's a raw sexuality to the Diet Pepsi video that is noticeably lacking from other pop stars right now.

a lot of fanbases here have to pretend to like their faves latest outputs (plural) because they were delivering subpar content and now they're seeing a former tiktok star delivering high quality pop music inspired by some of the greatest bodies of work of our lifetime (i.e. ray of light, homogenic, born to die etc) and they just can't accept their own faves aren't doing it and creatively have been at their lowest for a while now 

 

To think she is on track for a Top 10 album when Diet Pepsi debuted with ~500k streams on Spotify last August 

Listened to the album and I think it's a solid debut album. 8.5/10 for me, might grow even more.

Well girls, it seems I'm an Addison stan now. I haven't stanned anyone who has debuted after 2012. The new girls are cute but none of them have come close to giving Britney, Madonna, etc. Addison still has a ways to go, but she's got the potential.

 

I do love the slower, dreamier, trip-hoppy songs, but Aquamarine is by far the best song on here and my one quip is there aren't any other high BPM dance bops of that caliber. I hope she explores that sound more, because I also love seeing her do choreo.

Love the album, is stellar. I do agree with other posts here: her visuals, production, aesthetic, taste is already amazing. she is on the right path...

...however, what she needs to progress as a popstar is to work on her voice, writing and live performances. That's what will make her work grow even bigger in quality, but she is still young, she has a lot of room to grow and ambition.

 

I am excited to see where she goes.

I don't think pop music needs to have super deep and intricate lyrics all the time. I think we're used to this age of singer songwritters (Lana, Taylor, Lorde, SZA etc) but back in the day pop music wasn't that serious, especially with a debut album, so the lyrics don't bother me yet.

 

Also, Addison already sad she doesn't like ballads or super slow songs so I wouldn't expect that from her either.
