She tries so hard to be edgy with the visuals but she doesn't fit. Hopefully she gets better at it because the music is 10s 

I honestly have to agree, I love this album but I think where she lacks is proper visuals. It would be nice to see her do a big budget video with a proper concept and some great choreography

Overall a good album but the singles really are the only highlights of the album. FIAG is the closest she could get to a hit and those first day streaming numbers aren't bad either tbh.

her visuals are great and have done a ton of legwork to communicate how well packaged the vision of this album is. a corny joseph kahn'd music video would be the exact wrong move. 

 

the weak spot is live performances. she needs to get on that because touring and festivals will be hugely important if she wants to keep this thing going. 

my only ask of her is that she invest in vocal lessons so she can give better live performances and that her discography can become a bit more dynamic. these critiques about her being "inauthentic" or "trying to be edgy" are null and void for me; she's proven enough times that she has an appreciation for all kinds of music and people act like its a bad thing or makes her an "industry plant" that she's connected with the right team of people to provide interesting and en vogue visuals/aesthetics/style .. those people obviously believe in her for a reason !!

 

but ya for me i just want her to invest in getting her voice up a couple levels so that she doesn't have to be regulated to the world of "whisper pop" for the rest of her career, which will inevitably not help her with serving longevity. 

im seeing all the ragebait / hate threads about her on the front page . dont buy into it, raepists, they want us to react. most of them haven't even listened to the ******* album so let's start there… they want us to react. she's being critically reviewed and people are streaming and that's what matters. she's released a truly solid album and we're safe in this thread, just ignore the hate threads

Personally I just prefer a well crafted video like Taylor or blackpink, and I miss the old effort put into videos like Britney's, etc. I would love to see what she would do with a more serious approach to her visuals I think she could pull off some pretty iconic visuals given the right budget. 
 

I honestly have not seen a single live performance of hers and I am interested to see how she performs live as well, I would totally go see her tour. First tours are always so much fun, especially when it's a smaller venue

Honestly, I'm so relieved that the singles came out before the album the way they did. If I heard all of these tracks back to back with no warning… I would probably pass out  Truly a perfect tracklist

Lol this site is a flood of people with the most outdated notions of how aesthetics change, what's successful and what works nowadays. In their minds a hyperglossy video of her serving beauty shots in an expensive set from 2010 is a better video than High Fashion and Fame Is A Gun.

I have so much to say about this album lol, but I still need to process it...

 

It reminds me of Born to Die, Bedtime Stories, Erotica, Ray of Light, Blackout, The Fame...

The fact this ended up being better than expected whew. Times like These might be song of the year.
