she ate that. I can't even pretend to be a hater anymore

Yeah..it's a cute lil bop, doesn't excite me too much as a lead, but after that album, I'll take everything.

i don't like it, to me it doesn't even register as a song, does that make sense? :deadbanana: like it doesn't feel musical

the reaction emote, no actual response warriors will and are clowning u but ur not wrong, the song taken by itself sounds very busy, very haphazard , but that's why i personally think the video actually elevates the song. it contextualizes some of the sloppiness of the song

the same way i genuinely like the video despite finding the song a lil mid, let's not be afraid to call a spade a spade: this song is absolutely a spiritual successor of Green Light. the build up and sparse production in the verses leading into the crash of the "chorus" … it's very much in the vein of Green Light, which to me at the time didn't sound all that musical either but i've come around to that song a lot

overall it just feels like a retread for her. i enjoyed Lorde's first album for the moment in time that it came out, Melodrama overall was kinda just …. fine to me but not as good as Pure Heroine, then she tried something new and FUN with Solar Power and y'all apparently hated that !! so she's circling back to the safety of Melodrama. i'm just mad that yall kinda bullied her into regressing to the same music she's put out before instead of encouraging her to push the envelope of her sound further

The MDMA line got me on the first listen. IM OBSESSED

Only hot guys who did MDMA at parties will get this, I'm sorry haha

It would fit right into Melodrama. Maybe not as a highlight, but still as a pretty solid bop. Hasn't shaken my expectations of another 10/10 album from her. :clap3:

That said, she needs to drop this 'Shot on Nokia' aesthetic before the next video.

if she's reheating her own nachos this is NOWHERE close to green light i'm sorry.
