Expanding on a recent thread by @Vixen Eyes. Do you save the standard or deluxe or SUPER deluxe version of an album? (or all of them?) Do you only like individual songs or save the whole album?

Whatever the most complete version of the album is, then I use the tracks I like and save them from that.

I never save the deluxe because I hate to see (Deluxe Edition) or (Extended Edition) after the album title.   I only saved about 40-45 albums total, only projects I die hard love.

I just stream which ever one comes up first and is tagged right for Last.FM purposes.

i have absolutely everything in my library. i have the album as its released. i either rip it from my CD, vinyl or a digital release like on Qobuz for hi-res. ill usually keep demo versions in an unreleased mixtape and single edits under the single as a separate album. in the case of my thread, its a rare occasion where ill replace the album version with an alt version as if its the album version and scrobble it as if it is the album version.

my Kesha collection in my MusicBee library is both organized as hell and messy as ****.

heres a sample: i have the remixes under the respective single and i have unreleased tracks with the recording or export/bounce date in the YEAR metadata so its a bit weird in spots

I will almost always save the deluxe version if there is one available unless I don't like the tracks on that or unless the deluxe version is just the album live, like some bands tend to do. I always save the entire album.

I dont use playlists at all, only albums or searching for specific songs.

I never use canvas play with the clips, totally hate that.

Inspired by the concept of Yin & Yang I have 2 Playlists that I constantly switch back & forth with. I only listen to my playlists, I don't bother saving albums. When I'm checking out an album I first decide if I like the song itself and then if it goes on my "Yin" or "Yang" playlist... as far as organization, I first add the single itself, then the standard and then include the deluxe tracks if applicable. I try to first see if there's a single for the song instead of adding it from the album that way I can enjoy the single cover.

My playlists are pretty long and I don't plan on making more playlists to consolidate them, I just have to first decide if I'm feeling a more introspective vibe (Yin) or if I'm looking for bops and bangers to get hyped (Yang) and just let it shuffle. :jamming:

Tbh I don't like deluxe editions. I hate seeing "Deluxe Edition" on the album title and the bonus tracks usually tend to be very mid. I like to listen to an album in the way it was meant to be heard.

I mostly listen to albums or single-artist playlists.

I'm mixed on standard vs deluxe, depending on how much I like the deluxe tracks. Sometimes I hide a song if I really don't want to hear it or if it ruins the flow of an album. All remixes or live performances that get slapped onto the end of an album automatically get hidden.

I mostly only like albums that I listen to in full, and I like every individual track I like so that the songs will be in my artist "liked songs" playlists—I use those a lot so they need to be comprehensive.

I save the definitive edition with most if not all the tracks (ie the deluxe), delete random DJ remixes and try to have all the bonus tracks added. and of course, unreleased is tagged by era under" sessions" (ie. "19 - Sessions")

with the leaked final versions being on disc 1 and the demos, alt versions and etc. being under disc 2.

I like having my library organized and less cluttered as possible. I used to tag anything with bonus tracks as a deluxe, but unless it was explicit released as a deluxe album with its own cover art or specific tracks I just keep it tagged as a standard. Like if they're target or walmart bonus tracks I don't bother.

Also, I don't delete tracks and lowkey hate it when people do :tsk: Just because you don't like a song on the first few listens doesn't mean it won't grow on you. I mean enjoy the record how you want, but I never hated a track that much I just delete the entire thing. I feel like it's a little too dramatic :toofunny3:

also I have a lot of playlists that I need to revamp :deadbanana2: I went through my library last year and deleted tracks that didn't "convert" properly and replaced them with the apple music versions when I uploaded my local files from when I didn't use streaming and just downloaded albums from music sharing sites. so things from those are missing :toofunny2: i'm in the middle of editing and fixing my library now all the recent leaks has it looking a mess because things aren't properly tagged

I mainly download the standard versions unless I like the bonus tracks from the deluxe.

I'll only save a whole album if I really enjoy it or there's not many skips for me. Other than that, I just save the songs that I like.

i stream albums from start to end only during the weekends, otherwise i just stream a playlist by X artist with my favorite songs on them.

The one I like the most, sometimes I don't care about the deluxe tracks, sometimes I do. I listen to albums for my faves + some more artists, then make playlists with songs I like based on mood, genre etc.

I always save the deluxe version, the recent trend of deluxe after the album release annoys me bc it kinda messes up my saved albums in my library lol. I never delete anything from an album and I don't really save individual songs or single releases. I have mood playlists but I primarily listen to monthly playlists where I compile everything I'm into that month. It's great for the car, walking, or when I don't wanna think too hard.

I have three playlists: English is self-explanatory, though I must admit I also slipped Elyanna (Arabic) and Twice (Korean) there for convience. Latin has all my Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian tracks, so the title is about the language family. Unreleased is mostly made up of live versions and demos, like that pirated Eras Tour album, Spotify's desktop app has its tricks! The artists are sorted in alphabetical order and the albums in release order (example below). I don't save everything, just what I'm listening to the most. Deluxe editions are only included when they have tracks I come back to frequently.

I got my playlist (if I'm in the mood for shuffle)

If I'm listening to an album for the first time I'll listen to 2 at the same time

When I'm not listening to music I have a streaming playlist running in the background :dies:

It's why my lastfm is all over the place

With albums I listen to the ones lastfm is accurate worse case I'll edit the tags.

I only save albums I plan on listening to. Otherwise I save tracks.

Original over deluxe,if I like the deluxe bonuses I listen to them individually.

I'm an album driven listener and rarely listen to playlists. I use them but more for sharing with others than personal listening. I use Last.fm and Listenbrainz.
