Any Finasteride users here?

I have been on finasteride for the past six months or so and I know its one of its sides but I feel like its giving me depression and I can't be sure its fin :doc: It was great first three months but then I started to have more and more bad days and lately it has reached to the point where I don't event want to leave the house or socialize. I was scared of its sides effects at first but I heard its like 2% chance so I started using cuz seeing my hair thinning was making me depressed already. I am stressed about work and life in general lately so maybe its just me but I hope its not finasteride cuz its working and I don't wanna be bald :cries:

Girl how much are you paying for this drug? I just googled it and there's no way I'd risk depression over my hairline. Just save up your money and get a hair transplant :rip:

You will still need to take finasteride after a hair transplant though.

I've heard the topical treatment is an easy way to get the benefits of finasteride without the depressive side effects. It might be worth giving that a shot? I recently got on finasteride (pills) after I noticed some thinning of my already receded hairline. I haven't experienced any side effects yet, but that's the other alternative I have in mind in case I experience any in the coming months.

How long have you been on it ?

It can give you slight brain fog, which is disorienting. The initial shedding phase is also not fun.

Roughly since the start of the year.

like you say the side effects are very rare, so it's unlikely that it's the fin

fwiw i've been on it since I was 19 (24 now) and never had any issues :lakitu:

I've been on it for 5 years and it's been fine, aside from (TMI) a slightly lower sex drive and watery loads. Worth trading for a full head of hair.

I've experienced depressive episodes but ultimately they were caused by external stressors like school, work etc.

Been using finasteride for 2.5 years. Didn't get the effects... but I do see that sometimes I lose hair for a month and then after it stops maybe it's that. Keep on taking it for a few weeks and see how it goes.

I've heard some saying sides will subside with time so idk if I should stop or not :dancehall:

I take Dutasteride and so far the only side effect is reduced libido, not a lot tho, I still get erections and can cum and everything, but I used to be hornier :thing: I still am just not as much.

In you case I think you should talk to a doctor, I don't think it's worth it to have hair if you're feeling like **** all the time, the point of the treatment is to boost your confidence and make you feel better, so if you feel like you wanna die then it's not working as it should.

Yeah its probably not finasteride and im just very stressed in general lately

I've been on it for 3.5 years and I think(?) it has helped stop my hair loss. But I'm 26 so there's plenty of time for it to get worse still lol. I haven't experienced any side effect though.

I've taken Dutasteride for over a year and I've never noticed anything other than some annoying adult acne and maybe some slight body hair growth. It is listed as a potential side effect though so I would speak with your doctor like others have mentioned.

No sides for me but I've only been taking it for a year and wasn't balding when I started. The shed was traumatic though oml.

i've been on finastride since 2023, haven't noticed any abnormal amounts of depression that i didnt have before

Finasteride is for p*ssy's.

Dutasteride is stronger/ better.

Your depression is due to your decreasing hairline, not finasteride.
