I mean, Art Angels is not good, so…

However, Miss Anthro >>>

Ugh this is so hard, I think I have to go for Art Angels because Flesh Without Blood is just such a knockout track.

Art Angels changed my life in 2015 but it has aged a bit since then... too early to tell

Art Angels, but Eusexua has a lot of replay value to it so idk... Too early to decide I think

Art Angels is Grimes' magnum opus and top 5 albums of the 2010s. Excellent body of work and all self-produced.

Art Angels & it's not even close. it's a timeless masterpiece. EUSEXUA will age quickly like much of FKA twigs' discography.

Eusexua and it's not even close. Yes Art Angels had some cool moments but Grimes completely lacks in all the aspect Twigs excels in: vocal delivery, deeper meaning, artistic cohesion. I don't know what an "Art Angels" is. However, with Eusexua I resonated completely and I understood EVERYTHING she said on that album!

Girl bye. Age quickly like much of FKA twigs' discography? All of twigs her work feels intentional and raw, which actually makes it timeless. She often combines it with other forms of artistic expression such as difference forms of dance. Twigs is always effortlessly blending experimental production with vulnerability. Grimes on the other hand prioritizes quirky, surface-level Sci-Fi aesthetics over substance and artistic merit. Yes her music is catchy and cool sometimes or whatever but tell me, WHEN has Grimes ever achieved the visceral, transcendent quality that makes albums like Eusexua and MAGDALENE such a groundbreaking experiences? ILL WAIT. Cause there is literally not a single Grimes song that has achieved that.

Thank you. We are a small but mighty group.

AA was overrated from day one.

With all due respect, I think you're missing the mark on what makes Grimes so compelling. You talk about 'visceral, transcendent quality' – but that's subjective.

What I find transcendent is Grimes's ability to tap into very real, human emotions and experiences, but through this otherworldly sonic lens. It's that contrast that makes her so unique.

FKA twigs, while undeniably talented, often feels performative in her vulnerability. It's stylized, almost to the point of being unrelatable. Grimes, on the other hand, lays her anxieties, her dreams, her very human flaws bare in her music. It's raw in a different way – less polished, more authentic. Tracks like 'Oblivion' or 'Delete Forever' or 'Genesis' or 'Flesh Without Blood' or 'Realiti' & many more aren't trying to be high art, they're trying to connect with something real inside the listener, and they succeed. Unlike FKA twigs, who often leans into pretentious, overly abstract concepts, Grimes speaks to universal experiences in ways that feel relatable, not out of reach. Twigs often puts artifice above sincerity, and while the surface-level emotion is there, it doesn't feel as grounded or human as Grimes' work.

You mention MAGDALENE – and while it's a very well-crafted album which I love, let's be real, FKA twigs's discography is inconsistent. For every 'Cellophane', there's a 'Killer', 'Don't Judge Me' or something off Caprisongs that just doesn't hit the same mark. Grimes, even with her experimentation, maintains a higher level of quality across her albums. From the lo-fi beginnings of Geidi Primes to the more polished sound of Miss Anthropocene, there's a clear artistic vision that evolves but never loses its core.

And let's talk about artistic merit – Grimes is self-made in a way that FKA twigs isn't. Grimes totally wrote and produced her own music for years, coming from a genuine DIY background. That level of control and vision is rare, and it shines through in her work.

Furthermore, Grimes achieves an ethereal, almost heavenly quality in her music with what seems like effortless production. Even simple uses of reverb create these vast, otherworldly soundscapes that feel truly expansive. This contrasts sharply with FKA twigs, whose production, while intricate, doesn't quite capture that same sense of spaciousness and wonder to me.

Lastly, FKA twigs is absolutely talented, but let's not act like she isn't boosted by her appeal to a niche audience. She's adored by the fashion-forward gay crowd who tend to elevate her as some sort of avant-garde deity, even when the substance isn't always there. Grimes doesn't rely on that kind of pedestal. Her work stands on its own, transcending niche fandoms and reaching a broader audience. Her older work still being listened to this day & having a wider audience than Twigs proves this.

Ultimately, it comes down to personal taste though. But to dismiss Grimes as 'quirky' and 'surface-level' is a disservice to her artistry. She's a visionary who has consistently pushed boundaries, influenced other artists and connected with listeners on a deeply emotional level.

oh see this one is easier than the Brat one lol

obviously Eusexua :gaycat4: (where's an FKA gaycat?)

Art Angels is a nice pop album dgmw! but Eusexua is something on a WHOLE other level, it's almost Post-level of pop magna carta

I'm no longer a grimes fan but Art Angels is like a near perfect album, Eusexua is better though (all of Twigs's albums are)

I like both, but Eusexua sounds divine, timeless and more luxurious. Eusexua makes me feel like a holy virgin and a damned wh0re at the same time. Not everyone can say that.

And Fka Twigs' work is definitely more consistent, though. Grimes only has only two good albums and her latest efforts are boring and sound uninspired. Fka's efforts are of constant quality. I mean, look at the just released Striptease video. Grimes could never reach this artistry.
