I think it's more complicated than that.

 

1. We know companies and certain adults get younger artists to say certain damaging things and then use them to blackmail those artists. We saw it with Justin Bieber.

 

2. The implications of the n-word are a part of Western culture and white people used it as a hate term for all non-white people. It's weird to push our societal norms on other cultures when they don't exist in the same context there.

Well the group needed one great singer tbh. There's a reason Miyeon slays every GIDLE chorus. The way Miyeon-Rose could have been an iconic vocal duo, instead of Jisoo having to sing the same parts as Rose despite having a much lower and limited range.

I respectfully disagree. If you’re going to market yourself globally, take advantage of the global market and global money — all the while basing a lot of your image, sound and rap style off AA culture, the least you can do is make sure you don’t engage in language that is offensive.

 

This narrative of “oh we can’t expect them to know it’s offensive” is a major cop out when they are engaging in culture vulturism.

Half of that group is from New Zealand and are English speakers? I haven't seen Lisa getting nearly as much heat as the other two, and with good reason
