No she appealed and got probation.

Her new company is taking legal action against Garo Sero Research Institute who claimed she had a relationship with PocketDol Studio CEO, Kim Kwang Soo which is a disgusting claim to make considering Somyi was a minor when she joined the company and DIA.

Karina once again being the only one with taste in that group.

How are you going to hear Armageddon and think it's a good song? :skull:

Please cancel the group's comeback and give us a Karina solo album instead.

Girl, I'm the biggest Armageddon hater but it's still a solid 9.

hurt isn't a title and didn't have a MV and it was a smash in korea

it's not their fault they had a top notch marketing and made music videos through collaborations with brands like Apple, Coca Cola, Powerpuff Girls etc.. it was literally genius for newjeans' branding and success. this is exactly what the members have been talking about. under min heejin, the marketing team and art team was basically working in tandem and were successful at what they were doing and hybe changed the entire system once they fired min heejin

so they were getting AMAZING songs and good marketing

"Hurt" only hit 100M Circle digital points in South Korea. If you want to talk about a smash B-side, that would be "Ditto" which was never released as a title track. But Aespa have plenty of B-sides that have smashed and done much better than "Hurt." Up, Dreams Come True, Illusion and Thirsty all did better while Live My Life did a relatively similar number and Better Things, Life's Too Short, Salty & Sweet and Welcome to MY World all did well.

I have all of the praise for MHJ and obviously NJ are insanely popular and releasing trendy music. But they aren't necessarily having more B-side success than Aespa (sans Ditto, but that's an anomaly). Aespa have some of the most weeks on the chart and highest digital points because they chart so many songs. They only have 9 title tracks and a total of 44 entries on the charts and 904 weeks charting total. Their B-sides are popular.

TIL Lee Hyori was accused of plagiarism by the co-writers of Britney Spears's song Do Somethin' in 2006 for her single Get Ya. Lee Hyori denied her song was plagiarizing Britney's. They never took legal action so one can assume there was some sort of settlement. :suburban:

It's crazy because Britney would have loved knowing she inspired someone :skull:

Genuinely need Kim Soohyun to remove himself from Earth idgaf

Ditto is clearly a title track wtf

ditto is a pre-release track like kitsch

Then Hype Boy is also a pre-release track by that logic.

Why Hearts2Hearts lipped all their stages, skip the encore stage (ik it's because Wheesung died but they still perform on stage anyway before the winner announcement), no radio show live singing contents too? Did SM secretly sneak in a Sakura (or Sakuras) in the group? :coffee2: This strategy of lipsyncing on their debut just like aespa did is not cute, SM. Show off their vocals!

It's time we move on from trying to call everything by a special kpop label and just call a single a single

Exactly. NJ was kinda following the Western way when they have multiple singles within an album.

NJ's singles: Hype Boy, Attention, Cookie, Ditto, OMG, Super Shy, ETA, How Sweet, Supernatural

Aespa's singles: Black Mamba, Next Level, Savage, Life Too Short (US), Girls, Spicy, Drama, Better Things (US), Supernova, Armageddon, Whiplash

IVE's singles: Eleven, Love Dive, After Like, I AM, Kitsch, Baddie, Off The Record, Either Way, Heya, Rebel Heart, Attitude and 2 flop US singles i forgot the names :rip:

Several groups have started saying EP and Album instead of Mini album and Album now too, or Asia tour instead of world tour. The jargon is dying.

No. Single is first of all a FORMAT.

Single - 1 to 3 tracks

EP - 4 to 8 tracks

Album - 9+ tracks

The Western industry called the feature tracks "singles" because that happened to be the dominant marketing strategy (release songs in the single format and then an album following) so the terms became synonyms. K-pop doesn't really release singles off albums (there are exceptions, yeah yeah), they promote a song from the chosen format (single, EP, album) and it's been historically called "title track". They're not actually singles. The jargon still holds up today, because despite changes in strategy the promotional cycle is still centered on releasing the EP/album at once.

I need you to re-read where you said single = 3 and evaluate how you got to this point in your life.

There's an alternative universe where instead of this song, Crayon Pop is promoting the "Ice Cream Cake" song Red Velvet got.  And who knows how even bigger that would've went considering the Crayon Pop gals weren't adverse to making the occasional oral sex jokes on livestreams.
