So you like more lines going to people who are worse at singing? Why exactly?

This isn't flamebait I just don't understand this perspective at all. Serious question :gayalipacat3:

I usually prefer groups where every member is highlighted and it actually feels like everyone is equal and contribute the same to their songs and within the group in general.

I'm not saying that tone deaf members should be getting high notes etc., but most idols have the basis of singing or rapping, so they should AT LEAST have 10 seconds in each song and that's the bare minimum.

Sadly, some of my faves have some of the worst line distribution such as EVERGLOW and TWICE :deadbanana4:

kpop stans need to understand that most of the time their faves don't get lines is because they cannot sing those lines

:sabrina:

That's not true.
Can you explain why Giselle is always the last in line distributions and has to share her rap verses with 2 main vocals such as Winter and Ningning?
Like she's literally a main rapper, and has not been giving a full rap verse since her pre-debut introduction video :rip:

Or how about Jeongyeon's who's arguably the 2nd best singer of TWICE and is usually at the bottom of line distributions?

Here it is, the real reason why the pig wanted Min Heehee gone.

I was going to drag you and tell you to stop making JO1 happen in a Kpop thread, but I just Googled and JO1 are indeed considered Kpop as well :clack:

Isn't it a contract breach if they cut the girls' salaries?

Kız, didn't you complain about Sieun from STAYC hogging all of the lines in Bebe a few days ago? :clack:

Everglow's noise bops ending all of SKZ's discography. Surprised?

well evet

i don't have a problem with her getting the most lines, it's the unnecessary rap/talk-singing lines that she got

line distribution isn't simply based on skills and position but also delivery and how well they can perform the desired result. i think someone, an idol or someone in the industry, talked about it, but i can't remember

Aynen!
There's no reason why a main vocal is also getting talk singing-lines, when they already have the majority of the vocal parts. Those talk-singing lines should be given to the less vocally talented members for example, so that the line distribution ratio can be more even. That's my whole point

Speaking of STAYC, the way I always confuse the names Seeun and Sieun, and always have to Google which name belongs to which member :skull: Like what are the odds of 2 idols with almost identical debuting in the same group, and both names not being that common in the industry as well

It also has something to with favoritism or in some cases where the members themselves would rather prefer to have less lines

in the end it depends from the group and the company. in aespa's case i highly doubt giselle is suffering from favoritism, it's quite the contrary actually :rip: no shade

i mean no shade because giselle is my 2nd fave after ningning and she's a baddie but she basically debuted with close to no training compared to the others

The singers of the group should be able to get the most lines, that's just how it is

Luckily I stan singers

Giselle not suffering favoritism? :deadbanana4:
My girl, was literally sidelined compared to the other 3 members for most of her career.

Whiplash was the first time where Giselle was finally able to own an era and be the main girl for once.

Girl, don't even get me started on how their DEBUT Black Mamba was literally a Karina Fancam :rip:

It's not just an aespa thing, but SM in general always take it to another level, when it comes to favoritism compared to other Big 4 companies.
Like they are still debuting groups with "centers" in 2025 for example.

i don't disagree about that part but at the same time, it doesn't apply to every song

for example i don't think there is a problem with eunchae or sakura getting less than 10 seconds on HOT :bunny:

The fact that both Yiren and Onda had to lip synch to Mia's vocals in Dun Dun, otherwise they wouldn't have screen time cause Mia was literally singing almost the entire song :rip:

Nope, I like this new era where groups have better line distributions :clap3:

Songs like Something would be ruined in this new era. It works so well because Minah's voice carries the song, the other members enter just at the right moments. Giving the right parts to the right people elevates the song to its full potential, and that should matter more than treating music like a pizza to be sliced evenly.

i don't know if that's a good idea. they could make a bomb EP / album instead of saving good songs for later. look at how every single songs in newjeans' discography is a smash hit. that's because they don't "save songs for later"

:clack:

But that's because almost every NJ song is a title track. They only have 7 B-sides in their career so far and 10 title tracks. Aespa are only at 9 title tracks and would prefer to give us a full project than just three title tracks on an EP every year.

I'd like to see Aespa stick to the quality of Savage and MY World, but not every project can be as expensive and promoted if they're going to do multiple comebacks a year.

This is kinda the best GG cb this year.

(I am now declaring them on-topic for this thread because Bloodpop has also produced for Jungkook and Black Pink before + their labelmate has collaborated with CL twice.:supaspaz:)

Speak on it :clap3: Though Know About Me and Bebe are 10s and tied for #1, too!

Sakura's situation is different, since  she herself has stated that she prefers to have less lines, ama

again, no shade, but giselle had two left feet during the first few comebacks and couldn't be in sync with the others to save her life

she debuted after 11 months compared to ningning's 5 years and winter and karina's 4 years

she's now getting rewarded because she trained hard post debut and gained in skills in confidence. it's not that hard. she was clearly not on par with the others during the first few years
