Tbf, it's only 5th gen who are heavily inspired by the NJ formula.

3rd and 4th gen still have their own usual concepts etc.

The Kiii Kiii mv and the members are very MHJ/NJ coded but low-key underwhelming. In fact, a bit try hard for me. None of the members excite me like the NJ girls who captured my interest since day 1.

Honestly I think it's just because more recent generation groups haven't included singers as good as this.

 

RV can deliver this song because ALL the girls can sing and do it live too. 

 

People tried to drag IRENE, but her solo album is a clear piece of evidence that even the members not in the vocal line can really hold it down. JOY is also somehow shaded for her vocals (including in here) yet her bridge in Chill Kill alone proves all that wrong.

 

Having WENDY and SEULGI in the group obviously helps, but they all play their part and their vocals sound amazing together. YERI often gets overlooked, but she holds the lower part of a lot of their harmonies so many times and rounds them out too.
