I knew the track, but forgot the title

I still find it funny how JoJo's 2021 EP was basically a full album both in # of tracks and overall time (over 30 minutes of music). 

This one is almost there, three more tracks and it could pass as a short album. Will check this out soon.

Nobody - 8/10 (DISCO VIBE?? )

Too Much To Say - 3/10 (vocals feel...a bit off? Is it just me)

Porcelain - 5/10 (I mean, I don't hate it but didn't exactly go back to this beyond the day it came out)

Ready To Love - 9/10 (ends too abruptly)

Start Over - 10/10 (SEND THIS OVER TO RADIO NOW!!!)

One Last Time - 5/10 (really surprised that this is 4 minutes. Think this can grow on me)

Porcelain Reimagined - 6/10 (Piano ballad is an automatic gorgeous so maybe this can grow on me more)

 

On first impression I actually really like this! Now the question is, are these crumbs or the first step in a new direction because I just can't get into JoJo's music since...actually a decade ago if we go based on when specific tracks were recorded rather than when they were released. 

As a resident JoJo stan, this is a solid effort from her on first listen, but I'm kinda glad it's not a full album cause it's not her best work imo. My favorite of hers will likely always be Good to Know. 

 

my fave "new" tracks are Start Over and Ready to Love. Def the strongest with the most single potential.

 

I really like Too Much to Say and prefer it to Porcelain, but the reimagined (which I've had for a while) is beautiful.

It's an unreleased track from the Mad Love era, I believe.

This is ok. Not really feeling it as much as Good To Know or Trying Hard Not To Think About It(which was a helluva one-two punch to be honest so not surprised).

 

Ready To Love and One Last Time are great. 

Too Much To Say is her best song in a long time.

Yeah when I saw her in Sydney last year for that rnb festival it was too short she needs to come back

I wish the new EPs packed the same punch as Agape. 

 

I'd do anything for Agape on streaming.

This is wishful thinking but with her being very close to Tori Kelly and Tori releasing her EP "Tori" that later became a full album, do we think JoJo might follow the same pattern and add 7 new tracks later in the year? 
 

They are both independent as well. 
 

Just food for thought.

I don't want that. I hope she releases a separate new album within the next year. This is a nice stopgap so she has new material/an era to tour on, which is where she makes most of her money, and she can test the waters as an independent artist rather than diving straight into a full album.

 

Tori isn't independent, btw. She's at epic.

Ready to Love and Start Over are the stand-out songs to me. Both strong single contenders but she needs to send Start Over to radio stat.

 

Also adore Too Much to Say as I really relate to it. I hope the rest of the EP grows on me!

I also agree this this EP as a whole is not peak Jo. However, one last time for me is up there with some of her best.

 

I do wish she was doing something more experimental a la agape as well. But, really, I just hope she keeps us fed and doesn't wait another 2 years for more music.

It's what I'm hoping will happen
