I can't help but notice she isn't the hitmaker she once was, and she seems to have fallen out of favor. She was once the biggest artist of our generation, but has she fallen from grace? Is her castle crumbling? IS THERE ANY HOPE OF REDEMPTION FOR OUR UNDISPUTED QUEEN OF POP?

Absolutely not. Woman's World, Lifetimes and I'm His were all just promo singles as gifts to the fans. The real lead single is coming soon.

 

The reality is that popstars like Katy Perry are not meant to have relevant careers for decades. They have hot moments, not large dedicated fanbases or longterm influence. Katy's place in the pop landscape has been filled by others like Sabrina Carpenter and Dua Lipa, these types of popstars are fun while they last but totally disposable. The odds of having a serious flop era is much higher when you rely purely on the goodwill of the general public because once they get tired of you, it's over

 

Katy having a decline in relevance is not surprising, what is surprising though is the scale and speed of the downfall from someone who was once a commercial giant and a lot of it has to do with self inflicted wounds like the disastrous rollout for 143

143 is a gift for the fans 

This just shows Katie was not one of a kind and rather replaceable. (Dua, Sabrina taking her place) If she was a generational talent like Lady Gaga she would still have a place in the zeitgeist.
