Janet is, in fact, eerily omnipresent in music and pop culture as a whole. Her impact and influence on the modern popular music landscape are astonishingly vast.   Uncultured rodents being u

  • No because this thread is made every week you guys can't shut the **** up about her

  • That made up ass story nnnn

To be forgotten she had to be KNOWN in the first place, and in this case your friends don't seem to have a clue about her

This probably applies to most places outside USA. For example, i live in Brazil, a country that stans for "every pop girl" according to a lot of people online, and even here it's difficult to find people that know her. Even during her pre-erasure days, circa All For You era... I was a teen, her videos were played on MTV but almost evey person i knew didn't know her. Was she "forgotten" already? Guess not. It depends who u ask/where u from.

100% yes, her music is not being listened to and her signature hits and not synonymous with the 80s. Who knows why but yeah

I deoends on where you're from and how old are you. She was not really popular here in Brazil, other than some kf her songs with her brother. So if we played this game here, no one indeed would know a song from her.

She will always be remembered as a talented dancer (and she really does have several undeniable bops to her name) but so much emphasis is placed on vocal range nowadays and whilst Janet could hold a tune, vocals were never really her strength.

Yes, sadly. Her entire discography is being outstreamed by I wanna dance with somebody.

No. She is one of the biggest and most important pop stars of all time and that is not debatable.

So much emphasis is placed on vocal range nowadays? Are you for real? Have you seen the charts? :dies:

She isn't forgotten obviously.

She was unable to reach the newer generations (because of the ban primarily) like most acts that came before her and after her.

Not sure why she's singled out for this.

Also streams don't indicate who is consciously in the minds of the GP, that is pure sci-fi :ahh:

The tell was when they put Cyndi ahead of Whitney.

Clearly trolling.

If they had listed Paula then I would give the story top honors but Cyndis inclusion makes it clear that this is made up.

No. You are comparing R&B to pop girls. I think her team did a bad job turning her into a legacy act though. Also her performance style is very dated. It's a real shame.

Is her play listing good?

The most influental female performer?

No, she's not forgotten.

Probably, but it's not even her fault. It's primarily because of how her career has been handled since 2003. She still has the potential to get a viral hit like Madonna with Material Girl and become well known amongst the younger people. Still, with how poor her streams are and her team seeming to not care about her popularity amongst younger people, I don't know if it will happen.

Regardless, she's still one of the most influential pop artists of the 20th century. Her imprint in Rn'B music is especially embedded like no other artist.

No. She made it onto ATRL's Best Albums of All Time at #26 so far. Not everyone has that.
