He is a nasty person but still has made tons of good music that is and will be remembered for years to come.

It's always funny when stans try to defend their favorite artists by judging common people who have no influence whatsoever as individuals. Katy Perry is NASTY, and a random person from a forum bopping to Say So won't change that.

Nope. I don't listen to any of those artists. I cannot imagine how horrible it must feel to listen to music made by a known abuser. 

I listen to songs I like on Spotify so in that regard yes I guess. I don't buy music anymore

Yes. Most people on this forum support the work of Dr. Luke, Diddy. R. Kelly, The-Dream, Kanye and the rest of them, in one way or another, whether you do it knowingly or unknowingly.

Well, yes! Even if he's not credited as a producer on a track, anybody that has a publishing deal under Prescription Songs generates him money, so even if you stream artists like Dua Lipa and Ava Max, Maroon 5, etc. who have songwriters that are under Prescription Songs, we are generating him money.

 

Still doesn't excuse artists that actively seek him out to directly produce for them.

I could count the songs Dr Luke has a credit on that I've streamed in the past two three years on one hand. That includes the charity Woman's World stream on Youtube. I think my financial contribution to Taylor Swift, who I stream constantly, balances it out since she donated 250k to Kesha's legal battle But the rest of the streams also went to people who have disowned him

Not really. You are an informed music consumer who browses pop music forums for leisure. You have the knowledge and control to choose what is morally worthy of your consumption, more so than members of the general public.

Back in 2010 I bought the scented Teenage Dream CD on release day and that's it. I also went through a list of every song he touched and deleted the ones I had in my playlists. I was surprised to see MARINA's Primadonna and a few other songs.

There is no simple yes/no answer to it.

 

I don't check credits for all the songs, so yes. I don't know what song of Miley/Britney he is involved with.

 

If i know beforehand that luke is involved with the song, i avoid it. Like super freaky girl or woman world or kim petras songs.

 

However, sometimes I become aware of luke involvement after I have come to love the songs. Like with palnet her, it was too late for me to drop those songs.

 

 

In short, he is bad person but very capable of creating catchy songs. So i try to avoid as much as possible
