Renaissance feels more complete with the overarching concept and the immaculate transitions. It's Bey's magnus opus.

 

Brat is good, but it could've done with more cooking time. It needed some bridges to let the songs reach their full potential, and maybe even a DJ set concept to bring it all together...

Renaissance wins and it's obviously the better album.

 

Recency bias will make brat win the poll, but ask the same question in a few months and renaissance would win it comfortably.

Brat is definitely a compelling showcase of interesting production, song structures and experimentation, but it lacks the sophistication and finesse with which Renaissance was executed. Not to mention Beyonce's unmatched delivery on her records. 

Love Brat and this is no shade to Charli but this comparison…  Renaissance clears and it's not even close 

Love both albums but Brat is just better to me. Renaissance is definitely Beys best project tho.

Renaissance has a lot more to offer than Brat. There's wider range of sub genres within dance and there's not a single song that could be skipped. It's an experience from start to end.

(REN) 4 vs 12 (BRAT)

BRAT is the more daring and adventurous album sonically, thematically, and lyrically. B2B, Rewind, and Sympathy clear everything on Renaissance.

 

The only songs on REN that could stand up to BRAT are AHAP and Virgo's Groove imo.
 

That said, REN is still an excellent body of art.

Brat feels a lot more singular & essential. They trimmed the fat & kept things concise & direct. I'm also a huge fan of PC Music & their stuff with Charli always has character & creativity with her signature ear for incredible hooks. Renaissance is great but it's no secret it heavily lends inspiration/samples from other recorded works & it's not as focused. It doesn't feel like only Beyoncé could've made that album. Only Charli could've made brat

Best is a cute girl I guess but Renaissance is phenomenal. Especially for its versatility and great vocal delivery, something brat lacks

Anyway, definitely Renaissance. I haven't been able to engage with Charli's music as anything other than noise.

Virgo's Groove vs So I, Thique vs B2b, and Pure/Honey vs 365 are just cruel... Those are all incredible tracks

Exactly this, lmao. Even then, their approaches to being dance/uptempo are vastly different. Charli doing a song like Virgo's Groove would be terrible, just like Beyoncé trying to pull a 365 would be just as awful. 

 

I do agree about the comments saying Renaissance feels more fleshed out in terms of song structure, but Brat is more interesting in the other aspects. It feels grittier, more honest, and more surprising. I do love Rennie, though. VG and Pure/Honey are two of my favorite Beyoncé songs.

 

However, nothing on Brat is as atrocious as Church Girl.

I prefer BRAT only because it leans more into the sounds of early 2000s trance, techno, and 2010s EDM which brings back nostalgic memories for me.

The one that is just not a bunch of unlistenable noise aka Rena.

Brat has higher highs, but Ren is more consistent imo
