Which Kacey Musgraves album is better, her controversial follow-up to Golden Hour or her recent back-to-basics release?

 

Deeper Well sweetie Im so Sorry 

I'll never understand the negative reaction to star-crossed. It's one of my favourite albums. Camera Roll, Star-crossed, Justified and Simple Times are flawless songs and the visuals were stunning. 

 

Maybe it's for the timing right now, but I'll go with Deeper Well. It's such a healing record. The Architect made me bawl when I first heard it too.   

I liked star-crossed way more than Golden Hour, but Deeper Well is much better than star-crossed.

Two very different approaches by a beautiful songwriter. I don't need to choose. 

Deeper Well clears 

DW, but SC is hated for no reason

Deeper Well overall but good wife is my favorite song between the two.

TBH, maybe i need more time with Deeper Well, but it's not hitting for me except for the title track. 

 

Golden Hour -> Star Crossed -> Pageant Material -> Deeper Well

(excluding STDP cause i've never listened to the full thing lol)

Star-crossed is so underrated. I've cried so many times to that record. 
 

Though I do think Deeper Well is the stronger album. 

I preferred the lyrics on Star Crossed but musically, Deeper Well felt a lot more refined & clean. SC was kinda sloppy, sadly

Deeper Well by far, but star-crossed is overhated a bit. The title track is beautiful.

I love SC very much, but DW is superior

I like both, but I definitely prefer Star-Crossed and it's certainly overhated. Both are her worst tho nn

 

Golden Hour > Same Trailer, Different Park > Pageant Material > Star-Crossed > Deeper Well

Both are great, but I prefer star-crossed. Deeper Well is top 3 or 4 in my list of her albums.
