Parts of this album remind me of Kylie's early 2000's work

As I listen again and again the size of the disaster is starting to unfold. It's not even a matter of taste or having to get accustomed to it. The music in its essence is just unattempting and autopilot, down to the mixing, the productions, the lyrics, everything is unfiltered and uncooked. It might be the worst major label MPG release since Sweetener. A DISASTER to be remembered for years

The percolating electronic sounds throughout the songs do remind me of aquatic environments.
 

The guitars/flutes/synths are all perfectly enmeshed in all songs on RO. 

 

Not to compare productions but here is how I see it: DIWTTIY was a suburban, labyrinthian and chaotic journey about love. RO is insular and more akin to a luxury resort on a remote island.

This is not the music problem. Dua doesn't have superfans (or she has but a few) - this is the most important thing in music marketing in 2024.

pleaseeeeee i thought this was because the leak was a vinyl rip but it's in the actual final song too alskdjfhaslkdf

I really have began to love her extended mixes over the regular tracks. Some of these songs sound like they were spliced for the regular release and that hurts them. Illusion for instance, sucked for me for a long time until I hear the extended mix, it's a whole new song now. The album as it exists now is mid, outside the singles and French Exit, Maria and  Watcha Doing

Yes let's pick the worst song on there. An album with songs like Everytime, Breathin, NTLTC, God Is A Woman, Better Off, Get Well Soon, Borderline, Goodnight n Go is not a bad album whatsoever in fact it's a critically acclaimed one with a Grammy to its name ❤️

Tbh I never got warm with Training Season because it sounds like 3 songs in one.

Well everyone knows Sweetener is one of the worst pop girl albums of all time for the Pharrell songs. Let's not rewrite history now. KEVIN PARKER THE NEW PHARRELL WILLIAMS !

This is… wow. This is a catastrophe. There's no way to spin that. 

 

Things need to turn around FAST because this is giving a career ending era. She has it in her to get something out to bring goodwill back but she needs to act QUICK.

It's also nowhere near as epic as Houdini, especially it's extended cut, that sounds like a bunch of different elements of different songs put together too but it works. But TS does get the job done too, back to back bops
