Yeah. This is a album she wanted to put out to hold the fans down for the next year. She debuted with better numbers than her previous album and is eyeing another global #1 hit. The album is also hold

Yet she's only debuting with 185k despite having a plethora of number 1s in the last 3-4 years.

Only the expectations of haters. She's Ariana Grande™️, everybody with ears could see she's here to last from day one. :giraffe:

Yeah. This is a album she wanted to put out to hold the fans down for the next year. She debuted with better numbers than her previous album and is eyeing another global #1 hit. The album is also holding well on streaming so far and reception by fans is overwhelmingly positive. She delivered.

For somebody that's supposedly "over", she's achieved 2 global #1's in a row which once again leaves OAHs with egg on their faces :ahh:

I'd say so! This site for the past few months has been calling her a "forgotten 2019 fad" who was replaced. She released an amazing album that's stable, getting very good word of mouth, and (so far), a global slow-burner hit. Things are only going to go up for her from here

Well considering a lot of users around here tried to convince us she's over, left in 2019, incapable of writing without a camp and what not, I expected her to serve a terrible album and a huge drop charts wise, certainly not day by day increases!

Obviously. It seemed like she was headed to an underperformance based on the lead single and the PR disaster that preceded the era. She has been very consistent in her career, very impressive. :clap3:

debut day isnt all that. her third day on spotify for example is higher than albums like folklore, 30 and GUTS which all debuted higher.

The hold is impressive!

Global:
Day 1: 58,174,514
Day 2: 47,401,118
Day 3: 43,786,099

Well yes, considering atrl had already branded the era her Witmess flop era without the album having even been release.

:snowman:

Alot of people wrote her off and doubted her after Yes and?, along with the hate train, no more singles , then she proceeds to drop the album of her career. We are literally watching the GP switch in real time. Her third day is bigger than 30, Sour, Guts, Folklore’s third day. That’s a sign of a great album and a great response.

im pretty sure the debut numbers are gonna update to over 200k+ as well.

Once again, the bar is too low :bibliahh:

exceeding expectation, but debuting below 200k even with 7 cover variants  :penguin:

Single wise yes since she may have 2 #1s from this album

But her first week numbers are still disappointing, she should be doing 200k at least first week.

Oh yes, she totally shuts the haters up this era

she's nothing without Scooter

writing camp

forgotten fad in 2019

The album is fantastic

She is a Star + See when you release an album and do a little promo  :clap3:

She’s a streaming era artist. Unless she starts going K-pop and putting more appealing goods in her albums, she’ll never have strong first weeks.

I mean:

Yours Truly - 138k units fw / 1.99M total [2/17/23]
My Everything - 169k units fw / 4.4M total [2/17/23]

Dangerous Woman - 175k units fw / 3.2M total [2/17/23]

Sweetener - 231k units fw / 2.7M total [2/17/23]

Thank U, Next - 360k units fw / 4.2M total [2/17/23]

Positions - 174k units fw / 2.25M total [2/17/23]

This forum also dragged Billie’s HTE based on its first week and it ended up being a hit era here in the U.S.

Ariana is substantially more famous and established than Billie Eilish. She's also way more famous than Olivia and even she hit above 200k. Hell even Nicki did more.

It just doesnt make sense to sell only 185k first week after all those number 1s :rip:

Not a good enough excuse, Beyoncé debuted 16 years before Ariana yet managed to pull over 300k while Billie and Olivia managed to do over 200k.

I like Ariana but the bar for her is ridiculously low when it comes to album sales.

because first week numbers are not really that important in the grand scheme of things and for some reason ATRL never understands this. a hit album is a hit album whether it sells 1M first week of 100k. its clear that her albums always have great longevity even if the first week is not jaw dropping

That 185k figure was the projection after 1 day. HDD also projected TUN at ~250k after 1 day and it ended up doing 360k. They projected Positions initially at ~260k and it ended up doing 174k. ES is holding almost as well as TUN did. At least wait for the updated projection before jumping to conclusions. Haven't we learned this lesson this week already?
