The Pitchfork score is insane  

 

I can see them rating Planet Her and Hot Pink higher, even though I think Scarlet is better, but you won’t convince me GUTS is an 8.0 if this isn’t even a 6 to them

Pitchfork is TRASH

At a loss. Definitely he strongest effort to date. Deserves more but maybe the ultimate issues is that it’s just a lot of chnage all at once for people. Idk.

Pitchfork base their scores on a panel of critics sadly 

although a 5.9 is low, let’s be real. Scarlet is definitely not a masterclass album. The album does have inconsistencies and poor lyricism here and there.

 

However, a 5.9 is kinda low. A 6.5-7.0 was more appropriate 

this album is a 7 at the very least 

i know it reads like i wanna be different so bad but i hate pttr. all songs on scarlet are better

absolutely hate that the album is getting trashed due to lukewarm numbers

hope she pulls more hits to change the trajectory of the era 

I usually don't agree and pay no attention to PK but they are quite spot on with this review. 

yeah this is at least a 7. but even as massive doja fan, I can admit that this album is bloated and less focused than her previous work.

 

also with an album named 'Scarlet' and singles such as 'PTTR' and 'Demons', she set herself up, because everyone expected a twisted and merciless album but instead half of it is lovey-dovey.
