if this smashed everything that occurred after this would've never happened (and Joyride would've been out in 2016) but this pop perfection deserved so much better

the drop in prisoner is abysmal, aside from that it’s good but unless they could’ve fixed a new drop, im glad it stayed in the vault

Tinashe can do pop! But this, Prisoner, and Flame were just not it  they’re fine I guess but be serious 

She sucked with making this crossover pop music except Superlove, but that wasn’t even full pop like the rest of the attempts. However post Joyride, her collabs with edm producers and the pop tracks on 333 and SFY is so good like where was this when you had a label backing you maam?

The solo version is an underrated bop.

Streaming the solo 

I remember gettin superhyped about the era and listening Player and i was like.........Hmm nope this doesnt feel good enough to be a Hit.
Love it so much was not good enough. The Chris Brown feat (forced by the label) also totally ruined the song
Loved the video but watching Chris was so disgustin. He also bullied her later.

Something with Pop-Tropical House-R&B vibes would have been better. That was the sound of the time

Not people in here dragging this mega bop. Tinashe's only real miss for me was Flame

Label intervention and meddling way too much.

Prisoners is a classic I don’t care what anyone says 

It's a bop, but in retrospect, it wasn't good a single choice and also a drastic change from Aquarius.

She needed to push a Pop/R&B crossover song like Sacrifices, No Contest or Ride Of Your Life rather than going full pop.

This was the REAL missed pop hit

Yeah I always felt the pre-hook was catchier than the actual hook itself lol.  
 

But I still liked the song….without Chris Brown though.  

generic but still good. loved it back in the day because she gave us a solo edit.
