Doja Cat - "Attention"

The song is amazing. Artistic and poignant. I’m sure the next single will be tailored for radio.

  • And yet Attention and I am not a woman, I’m a god are easily their best material.   Two days of a song not demolishing the charts are really enough for some of you to start putting down girl

I feel like girls like her and Halsey try too hard to earn respect and it just doesn't work like that for pop girls like them

Janet's Velvet rope IMO and this is her "Got til its gone". I have faith that theres a "Together again" on the album waiting to smash.

I mean GTIG was never released as a single in the US so we don’t know how that song would have done :michael:

Well, promo single or not, we should all agree that this is not good for her.

Attention is like the 1st song she released since a whole year, she's just going out of one of the biggest era for a female artist these last 2 years, I thought people would've been more curious, at least for the 1st week.

I'm disappointed by the reaction.

Yes coming off the Planet Her era plus the two other hits (vegas, i like you) she got, this song was atleast supposed to be a top 10. This is a major sign. Not a good one.

I like this. Yeah this doesn't have much replay value but tbh it's better than most of what she did on Planet Her.

I'm not a Doja stan but what I appreciate about her as an artist is that she's so versatile. She's not afraid to switch it up and explore different sounds which I really like - definitely one of the most interesting artists to come out in the past few years

The song still slaps when I listen to it.

English language isn't my first language so I don't get all of the bars she spits, but the production is one of the best thing I've heard this year.

The intro is fabulous.

is there any indication for when the album is coming out... i really want to know if its eligible for the grammys next year :bird:

Olivia will outshine her if thats the case

I feel like the conversation should've happened a while ago but it's pretty clear some of you do not understand that Doja doesn't care about being "outshined" or numbers or being successful. This woman has not posted a stat about her career since Say So went #1, only going on to mention her success one single time as a means of an argument on Twitter. :deadvision:

For some artists, it really just is about the music and finding the correct audience that can connect to it.

Plus, if she did care about the numbers, Planet Her era would've been handled wayyy differently instead of her going MIA after album release, but they let a certain overrated foghorn snatch all the achievements and what not. Doja simply doesn't want to play the industry game and the :heart:kittens:heart: should understand that by now.

Plus if it's a hit, it's a hit.:michael:

OK!!

Doja is legitimately one of the few artists that probably never expected to blow up.

She literally dropped out of school and made beats everyday in her bedroom.  There was no grand scheme to become a huge international Pop star or entertainer.

I never learned to "superstar" from a textbook
Talkin' 'bout, "She fallin' off, why she get booked?"
Man, I been humble, I'm tired of all the deprecation
Just let me flex, bruh, just let me pop ****

They're watching, but they're still not listening :bam:

Made me remember an interview where she said she didn't want to reach #01 with Say So cause that would put so much more pressure and expectations with her other singles, and she wasn't ready for that.

The Barbz decided for her lol

This song really grew on me.

I go back to it every now and then and it's a trip!

I wonder how far rhythmic will take this. Its still getting small positive updates there.

I get so tired of flop talk. I feel like others have said. Doja is an artist. It’s clear that her concern was not about numbers when she chose to drop this.  This is what she wanted people to hear. Sometimes an era is more than coming out the gate with monster hits. It’s about cleansing the pallet and setting the stage for something different. The song is called Attention, and it’s literally a pallet cleanser.  But above all,  it’s a vibe and a 10/10 in this household.
