  • LMFAOOOOOOOO, huh? NOW it is cause every single song AFTER it dropped copied its sound. Before it came out, there was almost nothing that sounded like it.

Physical is one of the best pop tracks ever

Into You is a good one but it doesn’t come close imo

Both are really good pop songs. I prefer Into You as a song. Video and cover go to Physical though.

Into You for the song.

Physical is one of Dua's best but the chorus wasn't as anthemic as it could have been and I blame it on Dua's monotonic vocals during it.

Song: Into You

Video: Physical

Cover: both are kinda bad ngl :rip: ima go with IY

It literally sounds like a watered down Run Away With Me but in a minor key :rip:

So is Physical. It sounds like so many pop songs from the 80's.

Physical is more timeless imo, IY production aged a bit. Both top tier pop songs tho

lol ok... one similar synth and a similar arrangement doesn't make it generic... Run Away With Me is also a masterpiece

RAWM is based on a straight arpeggiated bass line. IY is completely chopped and syncopated, and the main sound is a growling FM bass and VOCODER layered with the bass (which was very uncommon in mainstream pop back then, i can only recall two other pop songs that tried that before IY)

not even the delivery or vocal arrangement is similar. like absolutely nothing about them is similar…

OT: IY is the better song, and one of the best pure pop songs in the 2010’s. there’s a reason we had to dissect it when i studied sound engineering

Umm... Into You wasn't ahead but behind the curve. That sound was past its prime and on its way out for ages at the time. It would have done much better than it did if it had come out 3-4 years earlier.

Damn. You went IN :rip:

Physical is incredible (easily Dua’s best song) but Into You is a f*cking masterpiece.

Not sure how you can listen to what Ari does on that song and call it generic.

ot: Both are fantastic, but I give Into You the win for Ariana’s vocals. Physical definitely had the better video and cover tho

I guess people forgot that Christina did that song 4 years earlier. They probably also think Focus On Me was ' new and fresh ' after everyone and their mom used the trumpet that year.
