Her previous albums YN and PH only debuted with 45K and 60K units in the US so the fact that ESV is doubling/tripling that is an amazing achievement. What went right this time for the pop-rock princess? Discuss.

ESV is bomb of the year, YN is bomb of the decade. Happy? 

Maybe it was the smash 6-week #1 instant CLASSIC she got? Perhaps it was that way more people are checking for Miley than during PH? Maybe it’s just talent?

 

Perhaps all of the above!!! People, let’s acknowledge that Miley’s current numbers, compared to her numbers over the past 8 years are incredible 

Not everybody can have a hit like Flowers.  And 100K+ is good for her, she hasn’t done that for a decade so congrats!

Seriously the way she's bouncing back after endless career-ending "scandals" is mind-blowing   

This era has successfully recovered her from the trenches and brought her back as a force in female pop 

 

Debuting 2x and even 3x higher than her past two albums is kinda crazy when you think about it

She is doing very well and I am very happy for her... Whatever shade people might be trying to throw at her doesn't matter. She has some great songs on the album and the previous ones that did not do this well. She deserves success.

honestly this take is the right one. 2x or 3x from your previous albums almost never happens. perched for when she books the superbowl and then 2x’s again from ESV

Payola front loaded first single, mediocre album that’s going to be forgotten in a month, she’s no Sza. At least she still has Hannah Montana record sales to fall back on

The fact that she is outselling her past 2 eras combined is insane 

And about to break the record for fastest song to reach 1 billion streams - even Spotify CEOs were writing thought analyses about the success of Flowers 

 

Hopefully the era gets some cute other hits, but I can see this era having some longevity considering Plastic Hearts did before Dua thieved Prisoner

She's not "overperforming" when you factor in Flowers. She probably has the most inconsistent career out of modern pop girls, it's very strange.

Quality and talent. Truly her re-peak.

This, people saying she flopped when she doubled PH are delusional. Miley isn't exactly a big album seller, even during her peak Bangerz. Plus with Flowers on the album, it won't serve a #3-#101-150-OUT chart run
