I agree that SM needs to put some GP friendly titles. I mean Dream got a hit with Candy but SM is gonna make them release something weird and noisy this year for sure.

I find more interesting how they share their lines than SM acts they stand out individually which makes more special. Hybe May have the worst vocal productions but SM has been lost for a decade, despite their top tiers singer their vocals are grating sorry you just have to look at with GOT. Harmonisation is great when it’s done well. 
illusion is an expectation everything is perfect.

They need to rest YYJ. He's been responsible for many hits, but his output in 2022 didn't connect with the public the way it should have done, especially Girls and 28 Reasons.

 

I hope they use SMCU season 2 to refresh aespa's sound too. They're hugely successful but SM kinda coasted with them a little in 2022, which was surprising.

It’s just funny because they clearly put most of the focus on tone and making sure they all shine there and the best way to show off your tone is ad-libs. I just want to hear them SANG.

Thank you, Cotton! It’s been a rough couple of months (I was in the hospital for 60+ days and then I came to the rehab center) but things are going really well now. I stood up last week for the first time since hitting my head in July. I have some good momentum now. 

The takeaway is having top tier vocalists doesn't mean your song HAS to belts every 5 seconds. It's exhausting to listen to. 

 

No one is saying they wanted a group like GOT to sing a song like Ditto.

None of the boygroups are making waves beyond SKZ tbh, TXT is a nonfactor, maybe SEVENTEEN can pull an upset but I doubt any of them have the global presence the 6 groups I mentioned above have. SperM will be another colossal try hard attempt at a Western push, EXO and TWICE are hasbeens, ITZY is just literally standing there in the middle singing way above their vocal range as usual while NMIXX just lost another member. NCT is just kinda there, big sales, little to no celebrity splash.

 

I agree with everything you said except the boygroups part. SKZ “making waves” isn’t any different or on another level compared to other boygroups. None of them are doing well digitally or getting hits (except for NCT Dream thanks to the remake). All of them are selling well. Yes SKZ sold 3M before anybody else but it’s only a matter of time before TXT or ENHYPEN or NCT DREAM catch up.

Also SEVENTEEN has been selling 2M+ for multiple albums for a while now and they’ve literally done a successful arena world tour in 2022 so you can’t say they don’t have any global presence, it’s just that their main focus has always been Asia. Plus they’re a 3rd gen boygroup so I’m not going to compare their better digital performance to the 4th gen bgs’ poor digital performance.
