It's got the commercial success of 1989 and the critical acclaim of folklore. Her biggest competition, Adele and Beyoncé, will not be nominated the same year as her. Is she a shoe in for AOTY in 2024?

As much as I love Taylor, I don't think she should get it for this album.

It's not on the same level quality-wise as  her other AOTY winners or Red, Evermore etc.

It should go to someone non-commercial and/or yet to be released album.

I think it deserves an honorable mention and a nomination, but… I don’t know if she’ll win that category.

It's only been like a month since albums have been eligible and she's been the only big release I can think of

 

But it's def getting nominated at the very least.

It’s too soon. I want her 4th AOTY to be with an album where she switch genres like alternative rock or hiphop.

SOTY or ROTY would be great though. Or maybe pop vocal album.

If the voters have taste then no.

Agreed - it’s just too soon for it to happen. Her wins so far have been like six years apart, and folklore was barely two years ago.

Yeah, it’s looking good so far for Midnights to win Taylor her 4th AOTY 

 

I remember people said that if Taylor won her 3rd AOTY with Folklore instead of others who had never won AOTY once like The Weeknd, that there would be a massive backlash and boycotts in solidarity and stuff of that nature. 

 

But then in the end, Folklore won AOTY, The Weeknd wasn’t even nominated for AOTY...let alone 1 Grammy , all the major artists winning awards came instead of boycotting in solidarity, and in the end no one really cared that much  

 

So that shouldn’t stop Taylor from winning her 4th AOTY. We”ll just have to see who else is competition, but at least Adele is out of the way 

Academy loves awarding mediocrity so why not

Midnight is a 6. It definitely doesn’t deserve AOTY

No. She is already over awarded, I really don't think there's a reason for her to have 3 AOTY's, it's insane and devalues the award. There is no artist in the world that deserves 3 AOTY's except maybe Michael Jackson. And to think Beyonce, Janet or Mariah have never received even one. It kind of makes it a joke

Beyoncé could release act 2. 
 

She shouldn’t win because it’s not a great album. It will depend on competition though. 

 

 

Following the pattern she’s gonna win it with the next one 

nah, though a nomination is definitely an easy get for her. This album isn't on par with Folklore, 1989 or Fearless. Consensus seems to be that she may get ROTY or SOTY and I think that's way more appropriate 

I hope not, so it would motivate her to make a better album next time (even though Midnights is pretty good already)

The fact that they’re not in the same eligibility year says you might want to try that again! 

I don’t think so, bur a nomination on AOTY and a win on Best Pop Vocal Album would be nice.
