i just saw this picture on my timeline and i was suprised . How is WAP only doing 389k daily? i thought this song was iconic, i love cardi so much btw its not a shady thread.

 

For example Selena's "frontloaded" hit LYTLM is doing 449k daily :O. Why is WAP's daily streams are low?

WAP was an event in 2020 but there is no reason to play it in 2022, the relevant thing was the video not the song itself.

It’s not forgotten, but the recurrent stats aren’t very good considering how big the song was 

The song was a meme, it's not exactly a timeless hit. And it's so vulgar and over the top that it doesn't fit any mood or party and such. There's a more limited amount of moods and situations it fits to be played in. "Baby Got Back" is a really famous song but its streams are somewhat underwhelming compared to other 90s classics, probably for the same reason. 

 

Anyway Cardi's star peaked with this song but it's been a steady decline since with her lack of material. Megan is also less popular now, she is already declining quite a lot.

It was a huge smash but I’m not surprised the longevity ain’t there since it’s not exactly the type of song that is an easy listen. But I still hear it all the time at parties & the amount of impact it had..there’s no way it can be forgotten 

 

And neither Megan nor Cardi’s star power have declined a lot y’all are so dramatic. There’s been a dip ofc but the way people here are making it seem as if nobody cares about them anymore

People still play this song. It’s a club banger. 

not every smash is immediately gonna get good recurring streams. big smashes that have done HUGE numbers tend to fall off quite a bit for a few years after their initial chart run.

Katy's catalogue didn't move sh*t after Witness, but since late 2021 her numbers are getting better because of nostalgia and people re-discovering their love for them. That's just the way it is. Some months are good, some months are meh.
