Not me expecting her Shouso Strip and getting a Born This Way tribute :biblio:

this ain't it, such a regression after songs like Dynasty and XS

It is not in the level of STFU! :monkey:

but it’s okay, not special enough to give the first taste of a new album

It's decent but I don't see myself replaying it to death like I did with much of SAWAYAMA. Between this & LUCID she's basically becoming a Gaga tribute act :deadbanana2: Hopefully the album has a few tracks that are better.

I can't deny that this bops a bit, but in all honesty this is still yet another step back for her. She is easily coming with her worst project yet.

The Born This Way comparisons are super accurate to the point it feels reductive. The whole thing feels like a copy paste of BTW with nothing fresh to it, she really decided to strip herself of any artistry and just ride on the gays hype of being the new Gaga of the indie world. From the melodies, production, songwriting to super corny lyrics and repetitive biblical themes there is not a grain of originality. She is releasing a 2011 Gaga tribute album a decade later as if the former hasn't already aged years ago.

Rina is still very talented so even at her worst she's still slaying the competition, but I hope for the next era she will come with something more interesting. Unless she just loves the comparisons and will dive into it even further, cause I'm sure this era will bring her yet another horde of gays who were raised in the Gaga era, liddos will stan this album hard as probably a lot of them still dream of Gaga releasing exactly that.

This makes me nervous

She was at her best being inspired by Britney and Evanescence in equal measure. I’m all for growth but hmmm

It's ok... i don't foresee much replay value for this, kind of sounds like a demo.

Not sure where people are hearing Gaga outside of the bridge but!

Anyways this is Rina doing what she does best and making songs with 2000s melodies that incorporate other genres, this time really classic rock music. This song + Catch Me In The Air have me excited for what she has in store.

very basic and a downgrade from Rina and Sawayama, I hope the hype was more about the album as a whole than this single :skull: it's cute though and I will still listen a bit when it comes out, just a disappointment for me

The Lucid SLANDER on the previous pages.... before you come for my taste, get yourself a taste of pop excellence!

Doesn't Catch Me In The Air also kind of sounds like TEOG? She's bringing her BTW and I'm really happy with it.

(even though This Hell's chorus melody is nothing Gaga would do, it's more Katy Perry, it's just the guitars+bella, pre chorus and bridge that remind me of Gaga

Yeah this is no where near XS. Not a lead single material at all. And the lyrics :gaycat6:

LMAOOO no? Catch Me In The Air takes more inspiration from rock and TEOG takes more inspiration from big power ballads. They're similar in that regard but very different sonically and lyrically. The only similarity would be Rina repeating air similar to Gaga repeating 'the edge' but even then I don't really hear it.

I feel like the BTW comparison is tired already because Rina isn't using the same reference points that Gaga used in this music so far. The 2000s pop influences are still very big and taking charge on these songs and the Rock elements help to add flourishes instead of being the main point. I definitely hear more Katy in This Hell than Gaga like you said too, but I can hear the inspirations that Rina takes vocally from Gaga as well.

STFU! was the lead

It's a great pop song, the Gaga sound similarities makes it even better.

People here love to hate everything until it blows on tiktok :coffee2:
